SUNSHINE & HER RAINBOW I thought I would be able to keep it together...boy was I wrong! Of course, she yawns on air. At least she lives up to her name...

MOODY MONDAY It's quiet right now with a mix of sun & clouds. But gradually through the afternoon, storms could fire up along a slow-moving cold front. Rain chances stay low through the afternoon. One or two storms could become strong or severe with gusty winds.

MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND💐 A nice gift for mom would be an umbrella - she'll need it this weekend! Drier today before rounds of rain & cold fronts swing through both Saturday & Sunday. Not a complete washout, though rain will be heavy when it moves in. Plan to celebrate mom indoors.

Gusty t-storms heading into Screven and Hampton Counties. Wind gusts could be as high as 50mph in the strongest part of the storm. Blinding rain will also be moving in. Just a heads up - take it slow on the road.

STORMY THURSDAY No major changes to what I mentioned yesterday. Hopefully the AM rain helps stabilize conditions and continues to lower our severe risk for later today. Still a low risk for strong & severe storms our area: damaging winds. Rain tapers off this evening.

STORMY THURSDAY⛈️ Most see scattered to numerous storms through the day tomorrow. Due to very warm air, storms could become strong & severe with main risk damaging winds. Iso. spin ups can't be ruled out. Blinding rain is likely too. Starting mid-morning through late afternoon.

MORE RAIN ON THE WAY The rain we saw over the weekend was nice!! However, we are still around 8" below average from our yearly rainfall average. Rain is back late Thursday through Friday where we could see 1" of rain.

SC Burn Ban UPDATE The S.C. Forestry Commission announced that the statewide burn ban will be lifted at 7 am Friday, May 1st. This is due to more rain, overall higher humidity and a lack of strong wind. They do urge vigilance while burning because drought conditions continue.

WAKE UP FORECAST Scattered morning rain kicks off an active weather patten that continues through this weekend. Today won't be an all day rain. Rain pushes off the coast by late morning and we'll see sun & clouds this afternoon. More rain on the way 🌧️

RAIN ON THE WAY PT 2 This is the best our rain chances have looked in such a long time!! Soaking rain is possible on Saturday. By the time the weekend is over, rain totals could be as high as 2" in isolated spots. We'll take it - any little bit helps! Smoke stays south today.

RAIN ON THE WAY PT 1 Stray shower will move across our inland communities over the next few hours as this line of rain fizzles out. Quick heavy rain showers possible. Otherwise, enjoy sun and clouds with warm afternoon temperatures.

MONDAY WIND SHIFT🔥 Air Quality: An improvement as a north wind will manage to keep wildfire smoke to our south. Closest to the fire (Jesup, Alma, Darien) still deal with poor air quality. South wind increases Tuesday & Wednesday, plan on smoky conditions & poor air quality.
