@GametimeRC It's only a matter of time. Most of the initial members of the GSAC went D2. Now, all the AZ NAIAs are in the GSAC.

Arizona could easily have a D2 school. Me and my buddies talk about it all the time OR a nearby D2 needs to stake a flag here and recruit the athletes… IMO, A D2 could be placed in Casa Grande, Maricopa… where else????
Jason Fleegle@fleeezeee

I’ve always wished NCAA Division II had a footprint in AZ. Too many talented players who deserve the chance to stay home and compete at a high level while earning their degree—something Arizona hasn’t seen since Grand Canyon University. (Source: @ScoutUrecruit)

@Coach_Moore_BU @haha_cd6 @All_22_NFL_Cuts There is truth to that - it is wild to see coaches talk about loyalty while leaving in middle of the year, but there is at least some structure for coaches/ADs. ADs/coaches have to follow a process due to contracts. Some have to buy out of their contracts to move on.

@haha_cd6 @All_22_NFL_Cuts Why does there need to be structure? An AD or coach can leave at any time. We saw a bunch of coaches leave their teams during the season for a better job. How do those seniors feel? No one cared about education missed classes when they created east coast to west coast conference

Amazing how people keep misreading Coach Saban. He never said players shouldn’t get paid — he actually supports it. His point was that college football needs structure: revenue sharing, real NIL deals, and clear rules. Right now it’s chaos with collectives, nonstop transfers, and eligibility loopholes. Coach Saban won 7 national titles and is happily retired. He’s speaking up to help the game, not hurt it. He knows the importance of education for players and their future. When the smoke clears. FOOTBALL AND NFL are Dreams EDUCATION AND Degrees is reality.
CBS News@CBSNews

College football's most decorated head coach Nick Saban spoke at the White House on Friday at a college sports roundtable hosted by President Trump. Saban called on lawmakers to fix issues he has seen at the collegiate level, where Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have turned the focus away from education. "How much does anybody talk about getting an education anymore? Nobody talks about it at all, which is the most important thing any of these student athletes can do in terms of enhancing their future."

@BJMedia1 My assumptions if you post content like this: You have never played sports in a meaningful capacity, you like click bait, or you are deliberately obtuse.

@WSFJordan Absolutely ridiculous post from Outkick, as usual. Implying that a high schooler tried to make her team lose the game on purpose is insanity. Sometimes the pressure just gets to these kids and that’s okay.

... we can't figure out why kids aren't playing youth sports at the same rate as in the past ... Increased social media has led to their mistakes being a potential public shaming. Add to it that it isn't just kids posting it. Adults do too just to get clicks. Wild.

Tucson High great Eric Langford coached his alma mater to the state semifinals for the first time since 1969, when the Badgers won the last of their eight titles. He could have made it that far in 1991 when he was a senior, alongside talented guard Val Hill, but the Badgers blew a 22-point lead at halftime against Mesa Mountain View and lost in a first round game. Langford said he was disappointed that night but tonight he felt only a sense of pride in how far Tucson went before losing to Gilbert Perry 69-64.

I've coached and played in championships. Tonight, I got a new experience: to watch a girls championship with my daughter in a packed gym. The passion and community was unreal. It was so loud at times that we couldn't talk about what was happening in the game. So cool.

@brianmccormick This travel is wild, and you aren't wrong. At least once a game, someone gets away with doing the Kendrick Perkins travel.

People complain constantly about missed travel calls on step-throughs (legal), but are silent when pivot foot lifts before the dribble (illegal) a dozen times per game.

@brianmccormick Emotional instability doesn't look good on anyone, but there is a presumption either direction. He could be responding emotionally when he needed to chill, watch his ego, & watch the film. He also could be responding emotionally due to them not playing hard & lacking coachability

@WSFJordan I understand the point, but it presumes the frustrated, emotional coach (broken clipboard, 2 hours of screaming) is correct about the poor effort rather than deflecting from the bad game plan.

Once, a coach entered locker room, broke a whiteboard against a wall & screamed for 2 hrs about effort, toughness, heart... Next day, player asked AC, "Why'd we stay in zone as they went 5-out & made 15 3FGs?" Effort or strategy? 🤷‍♂️

@TrustTrost Appreciate you, brotha. Again, I can't speak for every community. I will say, the time and competitiveness it takes to win games now compared to 10 years ago is a whole different level. The game is evolving. Resources are evolving. It requires more time now than ever to be good.

Thoughts about Jerome Tang: I’ve known Coach Tang for years! He’s an awesome coach and an even better man. These players are getting paid to play.. he’s holding them accountable! Nothing more nothing less. The issue isn’t Coach Tang it’s our society not being okay with their being any accountability! Shame on KSU Athletic Department

@TrustTrost I can't speak for every community but this generalization would be completely untrue and unfair to many coaches. Most of the HS dudes I know aren't making money doing this. It's the job that pays least, demands the most, and offers the most liability.

A lot of people wrote Ironwood off after a slow start to the season with a brutal schedule… The Eagles never wrote back and sent a resounding message of their own tonight. 5A #11/Open #40 Ironwood: 69 5A #2/Open #11 Willow Canyon: 62 @ihseagleshoops led by 18 late in the 3rd before a Mo Carter heater for @willowcanyonbb cut the lead to 4. Eagles iced it at the line late. @GreggRosenberg1 @Nextup_AZ
