@LeaderJohnThune Stop lying. Everyone knows what it is and what you're trying to do

@tyhok_hassett @BeetfarmerDave Generally that isnt preferred; it’s costly and takes more time to find people . The big elements for data centers are staffing to build, access to stable energy and access to fiber.
Remote isn’t ideal.
English

@WadeC84 @BeetfarmerDave They do it with oil facilities all the time, don't think that's the thing holding it back. Build a camp to house construction. There is a city up there that could accommodate workers once it's operational.
English

@tyhok_hassett @BeetfarmerDave You need 1000’s of electricians to build. Need to be close to a major city
English

@BeetfarmerDave There is a plan for a 70B one but one of those things thats likely to never happen.

@electionsjoe I cannot begin to explain how stupid you must be.
Everyone who makes less than that already pays 8.65% tax. That's 8.65% more than Elon musk and Jeff bezos pay.
English

I cannot begin to explain how stupid this is.

Unrealized gains tax for Gen-Z:
You buy a Pokémon card for $50.
Someone offers you $500 for it. You say no. You love that card. You're keeping it.
The government says: "Cool, but that card is worth $500 now. You owe us $100 in taxes."
You: "…I didn't sell it."
Government: "Don't care. Pay up."
You don't have $100 lying around. So you're forced to sell the card you love just to pay a tax on money you never received.
Next month? That card drops back to $50.
Your card is gone. Your money is gone. And the government shrugs.
That's a wealth tax on unrealized gains. They don't pay you back the tax...
Now picture this.
Your mom calls you crying. She has to sell the house she raised you in. Not because she can't afford it. She's lived there 30 years. It's paid off.
But some website says it's worth more now and the government says she owes $15,000 she doesn't have.
So she sells your childhood home. The kitchen where she made you breakfast. The doorframe where she marked your height every birthday.
Gone.
To pay a tax on money that was never real.
Now picture the opposite.
Your dad put everything into his small business. For 20 years he built it from nothing. One year the business is "valued" at $2 million on paper. He owes a massive tax bill. He empties his savings. Sells his truck. Borrows money. Pays it.
Next year the market crashes. His business is worth $200,000.
He lost everything to pay a tax on a number that doesn't exist anymore.
Does the government give him his money back?
No.
Does the government give him his truck back?
No.
Does the government care?
No.
They sold this idea as "taxing billionaires." But billionaires have armies of lawyers, offshore accounts, and trusts. They'll be fine.
You know who won't be fine? Your mom. Your dad. Your neighbor with a small business. The farmer down the road who's had the same land for four generations and now has to sell it because dirt got expensive.
You're not taxing wealth. You're taxing people for owning things.
It's like getting a parking ticket for a car you might drive somewhere someday.
They want you to own nothing and be happy. To fund the fraud, waste and abuse of the welfare state they created.
There is enough money. More tax isn't needed. It's all a lie. But you've been gaslit into believing this is a rich vs poor debate.
I hope you understand what's at stake.

@ericnuttall Additionally, accelerated depreciation has been a significant tail wind for project development in the US
English

@ericnuttall Eric, great conversation. Do you want government intervention or subsidies to help future builds? Or just for the government to get out of the way? The US has done great things the past year is reducing regulation and allowing projects to move quickly.

@David_J_Bier It's deeply ironic that these people have created, and are enforcing, a border.

@sweatystartup No place in the world has the economic mobility the US has. One can go from poverty to significant wealth in a fraction of your life.
English

People don’t want to admit it but the USA is a meritocracy.
If you have:
- energy/work ethic
- a sense of urgency
- communication skills
- ability to lead/delegate
You will get rich.
Any background, any city or town, any culture, any race.
People know it but don’t want to admit it because it takes away their excuses and makes them feel worse about their failures.

Very interesting theory of American democracy. When the left wins an election, they get to do whatever while in power. If the right wins an election the left gets to riot against anything they dislike & the right has to do whatever the left wants to stop the rioting

Too obvious a point even to make, perhaps. But there was no “unrest” in Minneapolis before ICE and CBP showed up. ICE and CBP are the cause of the chaos…and the killings. Get them out of there.

How many more Americans will die before the government of Minnesota does what the majority of other states do and simply cooperates with federal immigration authorities to deport detained illegal aliens? Minnesota would rather Americans die than illegal aliens get deported.

BREAKING: Multiple law enforcement sources tell me there has just been a Border Patrol involved shooting in Minneapolis near 26th Street & Nicollet Ave. with Border Patrol shooting a person. I’m told the person is “down” and medics are working on them. No details yet on who it was or what led up to the shooting. Working sources and will update when I have more.
