Some brilliant Britpop 30th birthdays to celebrate tomorrow.
Couple of slightly more obscure ones for those of you who like the lost gems.
See you in the morning.
I’m seeing a lot of people trying to work out what will happen to the Radio 2 breakfast show now Mills is sacked.
Here’s my top tip:
Start listening to Boom Radio and you won’t care.
No playlists, 60’s and 70’s music 90% of the day, no Eurovision or Strictly tie in stuff, etc
Happy Saturday all. Hope everyone is all good. 👍. Was hoping to do some nice things with my son today, but I got badly bitten , trying to chuck a stray cat outta my kitchen yesterday. Had to go to A and E. Tetanus and antibiotics. Sofa day . TV and logburner on. 🫶🔥
@Britpopmemories@OCSmusic@stevecradock@DamonMinchella Looking back the 2CD single format was incredibly important for the creativity of bands in the Britpop era. You basically got 6 extra tracks every single (so release 4 singles off an album & that’s 24 songs!). Covers/acoustic/live versions plus some of the best new songs written.
Happy 30th anniversary to “You’ve Got It Bad” by Ocean Colour Scene.
Those b-sides on the main version of the single are some of the band’s finest work, with “Robin Hood” being a hugely important song in their history.
On March 9th 2012 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds played at the ACL Live at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany.

This week's fan guest described his favourite away game as "best second half ever seen".
Maybe next season, the fan guest can be asked for their favourite ever second half?

@TimSmith2021 It's great album. Perfect as a double. Sprawling. Loads to get into. Takes more than one listen to fully appreciate. The story behind it as well. This is my fave Stones album.
@soundstoryuk Great book. The teacher mentioned in the first few chapters, Miss Cocayne (great name), is my mate's mum's friend. So I pretty much know Johnny Marr through a friend of a friend, or friend of a mate's mum.
