@SawyerMerritt FSD won’t back into my driveway. When I’m pulling up, I end the navigation, then turn the wheel just as it passes my house to back in. This is the only improvement I could think to ask for with FSD, @elonmusk

@WesInman1 @ChaosTV Dude is 12 lol. Children are not held to the same standard as adults. We literally call it childish behavior when adults behave that way. She is actually an adult. The onus is on her to not behave like a child, not the child.

@DrAlmarielao women always forced and coerced into taking up burdens that DO-NOT-BELONG-TO-THEM. it's not her problem! no one's allowed to talk about compassion in this case unless they have had a divorce themselves. who has compassion FOR HER? who's gonna validate HER feelings and reasons?

A woman gets a call from a hospital saying her husband has been admitted. Confused, she tells them she doesn’t have a husband anymore. The staff insists; she’s listed as the emergency contact. It turns out to be her ex-husband. Reluctantly, she goes to the hospital, but refuses to see him at first. The staff keeps pushing until she finally agrees. When she walks into the room, he’s calm, kind… completely different from the man she divorced. A doctor pulls her aside and explains: he has amnesia and doesn’t remember the last two years; no fights, no separation, no divorce. In his mind, they’re still happily married. The doctor says it’s important not to force memories back and suggests she take him home, letting him recover naturally. This is one of those situations where emotion, ethics, and personal boundaries collide. On one hand, there’s compassion; someone vulnerable, confused, and depending on a familiar face. On the other, there’s history, pain, and a relationship that ended for a reason. Just because he forgot doesn’t mean she should have to. Would you step back into that role temporarily to help someone heal… or protect your peace and keep the past where it belongs?

I don't know a single able bodied person that doesn't have kids and a job receiving benefits. I know disabled people struggling to exist on their "benefits". And those disabled people had to fight like hell to get that help. If some able bodied people somewhere are receiving benefits then yes community service seems appropriate. I've just never seen such a person in my life.

I feel what you are saying. I grew up in a home with coal heat, that eventually switched to heating oil. Absolutely nothing compares to that coal heat. The warmth permeated the entire house. It warmed my bones, it dried the air, it had presence. Even the heating oil didn't compare, despite all of the baseboards still being the same. All of the other heat sources just feel shallow or fleeting.

I think it depends on where you live. It's a very common practice here in Texas and every HVAC guy I know does them without issue. That being said, the heat pump is inferior (as far as heat output) to a traditional furnace and if you have anything at 32° or below, it's never quite as hot as you would like if you're used to a furnace. I lived the last half decade with only a heat pump after having a gas furnace for 35 years. You can tell the difference. I think the best solution is actually what I just did with my new home build which is dual fuel furnaces. You have a heat pump that automatically switches to a gas furnace when temperatures drop to a certain threshold. I used it this winter for the first time and it was incredible. We stayed toasty. Our energy bills were very cheap. And the system decided when to switch over automatically. We didn't even have to worry about it. If you're in a particularly cold region this could be why you are being met with some resistance because when the emergency heat kicks on your energy bill skyrockets.

Do you know how hard it is to find a HVAC contractor that will install a modern heat pump? “Heat pumps are overrated.” “They don’t work in freezing temps.” “They’re more prone to failure.” Um, no? The latest inverter cold-climate systems use fundamentally different technology with variable-frequency compressors and enhanced vapor injection that maintain full capacity at -5°F and rated operation to -22°F. These are among the most efficient air-source systems available. And keep in mind, I’m willing to pair a heat pump with an efficient gas furnace for a dual-fuel setup if it makes sense. But I have yet to find someone who will even entertain the idea of installing one, especially a MrCool or Gree Flexx, which typically means the contractor can’t hide behind an un-itemized quote. I knew the HVAC industry was riddled with middlemen who make money through commissions and hidden markups, but I wasn’t expecting such fear mongering. It’s eerily similar to the vibe from 8 years ago when I decided to ditch my gas car for an electric vehicle. Back then everyone said I was crazy, but they just didn’t realize how much the technology had improved. Now, electric vehicles are everywhere. I have a feeling it will be the same for modern heat pumps in homes. Am I wrong?

I replaced my HVAC unit a few years ago. I asked about a heat pump unit. He asked how often we used the heat. I said maybe once or twice a year. The guy said then it isn't really worth it for you. If you want a heat pump we will install one, but it makes no sense for you. ROI on the heat pump was like 17 years, so I didn't get one. Florida

Proximity to other human beings near my primary dwelling. Humans make noise, smells, etc. I don't want to occupy the same structure as others with their own autonomy to make noises and smells, to which I will be subjected. It's far better if I have my own space, and can choose when and where to interact with others.

Not smart. It shows the world that every Tesla has a kill-switch which can be activated by Tesla at any time. This might be a market killer for EU. Also the argument Tesla might look bad if that car is invoked in an accident - first Tesla claims boldly that their FSD is superficial second it would legally always be the drivers/owners fault because the car was tempered. So the solution is not the kill-switch but patching the security bug as this might be an entry door for other malicious code too.

BREAKING 🚨 Tesla has removed FSD from certain vehicles. No update. No warning. Tesla has been reading vehicle logs for a long time and monitoring for abnormal behavior. Today, FSD was fully removed from vehicles with CAN FSD hacks. Cars were remotely woken up, modified, and patched. For now, only a few vehicles are affected. This was done silently. $TSLA

@gri999999 @CyberMikeOG Interesting, I have no experience with hw3, but I wouldn't say HW4 handles school zones well. Really only sloth and kinda mad max. My car doesn't bother with school zones in chill, standard, or hurry at all. So I manually drive thru all school zones now.

@KerbalNut @CyberMikeOG I'm on HW4, only sloth and mad max attempt to slow down for school zones. Sloth is slow enough, mad max isnt. Chill, standard, and hurry pay them absolutely no mind and just roll thru at full speed. None of the profiles seem to be able to handle a drop from 55 to 35.

$12.69 MILLION verdict — fired for her faith A federal jury in Detroit just awarded $12.69M to Lisa Domski, a longtime IT specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, after she was fired for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine on religious grounds. Domski, a devout Catholic with over 30 years at the company, requested a religious exemption because she believed the vaccines were developed or tested using fetal cell lines from abortions — conflicting with her faith that views abortion as a grave sin. The verdict breaks down as: • $10 million in punitive damages against BCBSM • $1 million for emotional distress • ~$1.69 million in lost wages (back pay + future earnings) - Terrence K. Williams

In my earlier post, I mistakenly said I thought the Cybercab was rear-wheel drive. Joe corrected me and said it is definitely front-wheel drive. Joe is one of the only ones to tour the Cybercab line at Giga Texas, so whatever he says, I’m going with. I wonder why it is front-wheel drive though? Better traction, especially in rain or snow? More interior room and cargo space? Better efficiency? What are all your thoughts?
