If Chinese labs like Kimi, Qwen, GLM, MiniMax, and DeepSeek reached this level even while leaning on distillation, that says less about copying and more about raw talent and execution speed. Closed-source labs should be worried. Give it a year or 2 and open source could reach AGI first.

If you thought the Chinese models were good, just wait a couple of months, now that all the distillation poisoning has been removed from Claude Code.

Every AI agent deserves a crypto wallet. In fact, there will be more AI agents transacting online than humans very soon. x402 is the internet payments layer (which has been missing for the last 30 years), and will enable this. The new x402 foundation will exist under the Linux Foundation, with @Coinbase, @Cloudflare and @Stripe as key contributors. Once all agents start transacting natively on the internet at scale, entirely new product and business opportunities will open up.

Mistakes happen. As a team, the important thing is to recognize it’s never an individuals’s fault — it’s the process, the culture, or the infra. In this case, there was a manual deploy step that should have been better automated. Our team has made a few improvements to the automation for next time, a couple more on the way.

SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK - Socket reports two compromised Axios npm releases: `axios@1.14.1` and `axios@0.30.4`. -Read about the report in socket.dev/blog/axios-npm… - Those releases reportedly pull in a malicious dependency: `plain-crypto-js@4.2.1`. - The malicious package uses a `postinstall` hook, so the risk is at install time, not just runtime. - Socket says the malware fetched platform-specific payloads and then tried to remove evidence from the installed package. - The article’s immediate check list is: look for `axios@1.14.1`, `axios@0.30.4`, and `plain-crypto-js@4.2.1` in manifests, lockfiles, branches, and PRs. For my projects specifically this current REDUCTED one, I checked the current repo manifests/lockfiles: - No hit for `plain-crypto-js`. - `mobile/package.json` declares `axios: ^1.7.9`, which is broad enough that a fresh unlocked install could admit `1.14.1`. - The current checked-in lockfiles do not show the compromised Axios versions: - mobile is pinned to `axios 1.13.2` - openclaw lockfile shows `axios 1.13.6` So the current repo does not look already locked to the bad versions, but the mobile semver range is still risky if someone regenerates the lockfile or installs without respecting it. I have since PATCHED this now to to hard-pin Axios to a known safe version and scan CI/install flows for exposure.

🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages. The latest axios@1.14.1 now pulls in plain-crypto-js@4.2.1, a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise. This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now. Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that: • Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime • Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis • Executes decoded shell commands • Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories • Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.
