Iranian officials say they're not in a hurry. Any deal they sign has to genuinely guarantee their national interests, and they're not budging on that.
That said, they're acknowledging real progress. A lot of the issues have been largely worked out, and proposals and amendments are still going back and forth through Pakistani mediators.
But there are 3 major sticking points left, and they're all about the economy.
Iran's frozen assets sitting in the U.S.
Iran's requested reconstruction fund.
Iran's demand for exemption from the ban on its oil and petrochemical sales.
So yes, progress. Just not on the parts that matter yet.
