Just heard British press jumping on @HM_Passport office saying there is unacceptable backlog of people waiting for passports unable to travel. Well for info they just turned mine round in under 3 weeks on standard service so I was proper chuffed at response time! Just saying 🤗🙌🏽

@HM_Passport Been on the phone for TWO hours waiting to speak to upgrade team. I fly in 2 weeks. Sent my application over 6 weeks ago. Not happy! Risking having to cancel my 30th birthday trip because it YOUR delays. Friend applied after me and has hers back…doesn’t make sense!

@LegoBatshit @steph2490 @wonderlust484 @HM_Passport At FT appointment they did accept application but couldn’t progress it until original had cancelled. So emailed upgrade on Wednesday evening (with evidence) was called back on Thursday morning to pay and received passport on Friday morning.

I think it’s utterly disgusting that the only option in getting a passport that was applied for over 8 weeks ago is to pay £100’s more to go through the upgrade process. What if people can’t afford that @HM_Passport @pritipatel you should be embarrassed!
