@KafkeKretz @bdquinn “You know, many people think it’s sea-sea-pee, like…*round hand gesture*… the ocean, but actually it’s just the letters, CCP. A wonderful country they have here, the CCP. Great guys, let me tell you…..”

@SQUABABA @GavMcCracken @BarakRavid No, but there will be an axios headline claiming something like that, which is good enough for a quick pump and dump (or should I say, report and short?)

@ripplebrain The sad thing is, there are probably millions of military-age males and potential intelligence analysts in the US right now who each have thousands of hours logged in Minecraft, but somehow our military still gets blindsided by tunnel technology. FFS

@gbrew24 It’s not China’s favorite scenario, but I think there is a reason Iran started pitching the tolls as something paid by hostile countries towards “reparations” for the damage Iran has suffered in the conflict. Implies it won’t be permanent & universal. China can live with that.

China has been telling Iran in private that tolls are a no-go. Notable that they are willing to agree with the US on it, and to say so publicly. reuters.com/world/china/ch…

BUT MONKS WORK for their literal keep USELESS MILLENIAL WHINER
Matthew Opitz@Wehtammzo

@ShitpostRock2 I think, if you keep yourself in good health (i.e. don't make yourself a burden on society), obey all laws, and manage to live on less than $5k a year, society should give any person free rein to live as some sort of harmless monk in a 100 square foot pod dwelling.

@pati_marins64 If Trump were seriously willing to allow China to sell Chinese autos in the US tariff-free, that might be a substantial bargaining chip, but Trump will never agree to that. What else does the US have that China really needs? Advanced chips? China has almost caught up on that.

The problem with Trump’s conversation with Xi is that there are very few bargaining chips available right now. The biggest leverage at this moment is Xi’s own calculation: whether it’s worth letting Trump be worn down by the problems he himself created alongside Netanyahu, or whether it’s better to strike a good deal with Trump that would give him some political breathing room. Beyond that, Trump’s political cards are quite weak, which is why he is sending a high-level delegation with significant investment firepower in an attempt to seduce the Chinese. @supreme_king_yt @jiratickets Yes, wandering through historical events, learning nothing except some sort of vague idea that optimism and agreeableness conquer all, and everything working out because post-WW2 America was easy mode, both for individuals and for America as a whole.

@RWApodcast I'd put the nothingburger outcome as most likely. There may be some "deals" announced for future bilateral investment, but watch those deals quietly founder in the months afterwards. If the US was willing to import Chinese cars, it might change things, but that's not gonna happen

@FistedFoucault @revenant_MMXX This is not how the Chinese operate, unless it were the deal of a lifetime for China that included the US forsaking all independent ties with Taiwan and pulling all troops out of South Korea and Japan.

Does anyone find it hilarious that MAGA are rabidly anti commie pro small government but the “golden age” they yearn for was when the USG was at its biggest and most socialist, federal tax rates were at their highest, and union jobs held together whole middle America communities?
