The crazy flooding turned to ice. So cold here today. It wasn't a day to linger in the hospital, so I headed here on the way home. I may have given myself frostbite but it is worth it. I think the sun coming through the castle window is like the tiny bit of hope I have.

I think the phrase is 'some personal news'. This landing on the mat today was a joyful punctuation mark in an otherwise tricky day. I'm genuinely delighted to have had four poems included in @Dreich25197318 magazine. Obviously I encourage you all to get a copy when it's out!

Are there any cat-related idioms that mean something is useless, or in vain? "Für die Katz" means much the same as "for the birds", but it would be useful to keep both the cat and some similar meaning if I can. Hmm...? #amtranslating

It's the start of a new academic year, which brings lots of excitement but also trepidation and uncertainty for some. It's okay not to feel assured all the time and it's okay to ask for help. Emotional support is important and you don't need to be in crisis to reach out.

So, people with children...at what point does one stop finding random things in the washing machine? So far this week I have found a plum stone, several pieces of lego, random wrappers and, a rare find, a plectrum. At least there was no tissue this time...🤷
