All jokes aside, there’s no doubt the injuries are the MAIN reason for the Mets putrid season. It’s basically 2/3 the entire lineup.
HOWEVER, the roster construction is still an abomination. It literally makes zero sense. Stearns completely botched everything:
Didn’t trade away players like Baty, Vientos and Mauricio when they had high value.
Had no plan without Pete.
Relied on bargain contracts with often injured players. An absolute trainwreck.
