Johnson: Term limits are the most effective way of addressing the MAGA-fication of the Supreme Court. It’s a 6-3 MAGA supermajority. They are taking away rights as opposed to reaffirming them. They have taken away the right of Black folks to elect the representatives of their choice in their communities. They have taken away a woman’s bodily autonomy, and they do it gleefully…

You won’t hear this on Fox News: California just released a balanced budget that wipes out the deficit this year AND next — while protecting health care and safety nets. Meanwhile, Trump ADDED $2.4 TRILLION to the federal deficit with his “Big Beautiful Betrayal.” Republicans ruin budgets. Democrats balance them. Adulting matters.

If this report is true, this is an outrage. The Judgment Fund pays court judgments against the United States. It is not Donald Trump’s personal piggy bank. And that is exactly what he is turning it into. Look at the scheme. Trump sues his own IRS for $10 billion. Trump controls the IRS. The judge on the case is already asking whether the two sides are even on opposite sides. So Trump cuts a “settlement” with himself. He creates a five-person commission. He picks the members. He can fire them at will. They meet in secret. They keep the names secret. And they hand out $1.7 billion in taxpayer money to January 6 rioters and entities tied to Trump. It is illegal. Congress controls the purse, not the President. The Judgment Fund was never meant for political payoffs to the President’s friends. You cannot sue yourself, settle with yourself, and then write yourself a check from the Treasury. And it fits a pattern. This same White House is already using the Judgment Fund to pay off companies to kill American wind projects. Congress needs to act. The power of the purse belongs to the Congress and the people. Not to one man and his friends. abcnews.com/US/trump-poise…

Today, I offered an amendment that would have shut this scam down.   My amendment would've prevented self-dealing by public officials — including the President & members of Congress — who own or promote digital asset companies, including crypto.   Every Republican voted against it.

Trump's corruption has been well documented, but perhaps one of his most outrageous — and lucrative — schemes has been his personal meme coin. Since its launch, Trump has made over $200 MILLION from it while those everyday Americans who have invested have lost BILLIONS.

Raskin: The Supreme Court has imposed an outrageous racial double standard. In the name of partisan gerrymandering, you can deliberately abolish every majority-African American district in the South. If you want to deliberately create majority-African American districts, it’s presumptively unconstitutional. So we have a racial double standard that’s being advanced by the MAGA Roberts Court.

Chief Justice Roberts says the court isn't political. This week, six justices "read" 107 pages of legal briefing in 38 minutes and let Alabama gerrymander its congressional map mid-election. The stopwatch says otherwise.

I’m struck by how often Trump referred to Xi as his “friend” and a “great leader.” Xi Jinping, chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, is a dictator. He also offered no such reciprocal praise for Trump. That asymmetry makes Trump appear in a visibly weaker position.

The courts continue to prove what we already know: Members of Congress have a right to conduct unannounced visits at federal detention centers. As reports of overcrowding and abuse continue to grow, we will keep fighting to protect this oversight in court. nytimes.com/2026/05/08/us/…

The Trump regime actually let two guys with zero government experience use ChatGPT to cancel $100M in grants—including Holocaust education. A federal judge just humiliated them, called it unconstitutional, and reversed every single cut. Rep. Simon: If you look at literally just the past 15 years and what the courts have done—the Roberts Court, this administration, and the elected members of the House and the Senate on the Republican side—I think they’re hellbent on taking us back to a Jim Crow America. That’s not hyperbole. That’s real. In terms of erasing representation, gerrymandering neighborhoods and communities lifted up by people of color, we are actually heading right back that way to a time where folks are going to need to march and organize in the streets against and un-elect folks who don’t see the multicultural democracy that is essentially promised to us all. So it’s time to fight back. One of the legacies of the Republican Party over the last 70 years will be racism and white supremacy. And we know that. We just have to keep working.

Judges appointed by every living president are resoundingly rejecting Trump’s illegal immigration dragnet. ICE has lost more than 10,000 cases in federal court — a staggering number. And yet, despite thousands of rulings that it is violating the law, ICE has not changed a thing about their illegal tactics. When an administration doesn’t adjust after losing 10,000 times in court, they have reached a new level of willful disregard for the law. They will be held accountable when Democrats take back the majority.
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@ReichlinMelnick

Nearly 12,000 habeas cases filed is a staggering amount, something not seen in generations. And for the government to lose 86% of the time, in front of hundreds of judges appointed by every living president, is a sign of just how much ICE and DOJ stretched the law until it broke.

Dr. Oz loves to claim they have shut down payments to 800 hospices in LA, yet he won’t share that data so the state can hold bad actors accountable — as we always have (see: StopFraud.CA.Gov). Instead, Dr. Oz keeps saying a bigger and bigger number— first it was a few hundred, then it was 500, now it’s seemingly 800! Are they refusing to coordinate and share info with the state because they don’t actually believe in partnering? Or because they can’t back up the numbers that they are using? We asked for clarification. We’re still waiting to hear back.

CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz says they've found that at least half of the hospices in LA alone are fraudulent and that they've now suspended 800 of them. These fraudulent hospices cost taxpayers over a billion dollars last year.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents in Brentwood, New York were caught, on a security camera, walking through a backyard where CHILDREN live… with their guns already drawn. In the video, one agent walks directly up to the back door holding a gun, knocks, and yells “POLICE.” Another agent is standing nearby with his weapon pointed directly at the door. Then another agent walks towards the house, from the backyard, after appearing to be looking around the private property. At no point do they announce a warrant, or claim there is an emergency situation. Just federal agents with guns drawn… surrounding a home where kids live. Federal agents are NOT allowed to just enter private property, surround homes, and intimidate families without judicial authorization. A warrant is supposed to be signed by a judge, specifically describe the place being searched, and be presented when demanded. And unless there is an immediate threat to life or public safety, pointing guns at a residence during a nonviolent immigration operation can very quickly cross into excessive force territory under the Constitution. This is exactly why constitutional protections exist in the first place. Because if the government can creep through backyards with guns drawn, targeting homes without presenting warrants, while children are inside… then those rights stop meaning anything at all.
