@RobertFrobshire @Mericamemed Windows 11 requires 8th gen and the best you can put in a LGA 1150 socket is a 5th gen. If the guy came in trying to sell a computer I don't think he'd appreciate being sold a whole new computer.

@Mericamemed This shop owner is an idiot. He had an opportunity to make money by upselling a new processor and install windows 11 to get the PC updated. Instead he told the kid to piss off. I hate business owners like this.

What logic is there in selling $STRC today, less than a week from the ex dividend date, for $99.99? It’s something I just don’t understand. Can anyone illuminate this for me (and the rest of us)?

@HansMahncke @MCCCANM Ryanair call their Max 8 200 variant the "B737 8200" on the safety card and audibly in the safety demo - no mention of Max. Absolutely to not scare passengers.

@MCCCANM On the topic of the MAX, I recently discovered that Malaysia Airlines does not call it the MAX, presumably to avoid the bad feng shui associated with the name.

Great engines. Unlike the 737 NG, the 737 MAX can taxi around on a single engine at almost any weight (as long as it’s not uphill). The downside is the start time. The LEAP engines have to be “motored” at around 23% N1 for an eternity compared to the old engines. The process is automatic, but it can take almost a minute of motoring before fuel can be added during the start process. It’s occasionally an issue if you single-engine taxi & don’t guess correctly how much time you’ll have until getting cleared for takeoff…you may have to ask for a little extra time… …because in addition to the start time, both the NG & LEAP engines require a warm up period of 3 minutes after start (5 minutes on the first start of the day) before you can apply takeoff thrust. The LEAP engines require a cool-down period, however, which isn’t the case with the NG. It’s 3 minutes after reducing to idle on landing before you can shut them down. This can be a problem if you are close to the gate after clearing the runway. In the video, once they take the runway you hear the engine noise increase as the throttle is moved up, then a pause before the noise gets louder. The standard procedure during takeoff is to push the throttles up to about 40% N1, let them stabilize & check the instruments before advancing to takeoff thrust (you engage the autothrottle by pushing the TOGA button at around 70% & let the autothrottle set the final takeoff thrust setting calculated earlier; the pilot not flying may do fine adjustments if it doesn’t quite get there). This is all usually done on the roll…you’re not holding the brakes or anything.

I've brought up the business cycle a few times this year but it always falls on deaf ears. People simply want to believe and debate misinformation and fud rather than spend time learning what's really going on. Everybody on CT is talking about the 4 year cycle right now but very few understand it. Here is everything you need to know: $BTC is a macro asset and I've pointed this out often, it DIRECTLY follows the USA business cycle. What's the business cycle you ask? The business cycle is a measurement of U.S. economic activity based on a survey of purchasing managers at manufacturing firms across the US. The United States ISM Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data tracks this business cycle. And this data is released monthly. On the chart which plots the ISM PMI, every $BTC top DIRECTLY matches the expansion phase & peak of the business cycle. But right now, we haven't even started the expansion phase. So what does it all mean? --> It means that the current business cycle is taking much longer to play out than it has in the past. Which simply means for everybody here, the $BTC top will also take longer to play out.

Most people are overcomplicating the idea that Bitcoin’s traditional four-year cycle can extend. It’s simple. If the business cycle extends, the crypto cycle extends. Bitcoin is a macro asset…

Few things: @Strategy is now the largest publicly traded company in the world with a B– credit rating, lower than the lowest-rated names in the S&P 500: Carnival Corporation — BB+ United Airlines Holdings — BB Ford Motor Company — BB+ Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings — BB– Digital credit (Bitcoin-backed debt) is still priced as riskier than debt-laden cruise lines, airlines, and legacy automakers. This is a start… but risk is fundamentally mispriced.

This 4th of July, perhaps it’s time we declare independence from bitcoin cycle theory. It was epic while it lasted, and it will be a data science case study forever. As market cap goes up, the ability for anyone one actor, or small group to impact price, decreases.

Just spent multiple days debugging a problem. The solution was staring me in the face the whole time. All of the AI agents could have easily noticed it too, but they never did (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). This is my benchmark to determine when we have been replaced - not yet

@pstrmionrye @burnt_jester The thing is a 747 actually could do quite a bit of aerobatics before you overstressed any single component (see Boeing 707 roll, Tex Johnson). The tolerance (and pilot error tolerance) here seems a lot smaller than the stress tolerances needed to certify an airliner.
