The camera that took this picture, a Hasselblad, was not protected in any way from solar radiation. The moon unlike Earth is in direct intense sunlight as it has no atmosphere or magnetosphere. The Kodak film would have been destroyed… this picture could not have been taken on the moon. #NASA #moonlanding

@WorldWatching3 No. To be honest, hearing it once was enough. I did learn how to slow down my Kodak camera shutter to 1/30 of a second with a dead flash cube to match the scan rate of the television screen so I could photograph Alan Bean in Apollo 12. Doubt that picture survived.

Who else watched the Apollo 11 moon landing live? I was 5. My parents woke me up to watch it, saying you'll remember this you're whole life. And they were correct
