Star Trek Voyager is the best. No series of the streaming era would have the balls to make episodes like Threshold or Tuvix. It's TV in its purest form. Real shit.

@ReelRhoades Granted, some of those comments might have to do with the reputation the DS9 set had for not being the most welcoming compared to TNG or VOY...Avery insisted on being called Mr. Brooks, apparently, even by the regular cast.

@ReelRhoades There are still TNG fans who won't give DS9 a chance because of how Sisko acted towards Picard in their first meeting. Not to mention the mocking comments some of the TNG and VOY cast have made about DS9.

I guess I’m shooting my shot and saying just do something like Mercy Point or Sector General: a show about a space station hospital. The Pitt meets Star Trek kinda pitch. I could be pushed into making it about a hospital ship but I think stations could make a comeback

Many were keen to remain out of teeth arms, noy least infantry.

Serving with mates is much less relevant.

Yes, many men did so from 1938 onwards because they wanted to determine what units they were in when war came - which most people were by then expecting - rather than being forced by conscription into units without their friends.

Fascinating to read my grandfather’s service record. He was a clerk in a builders merchant and enlisted in the 72nd (Northumbrian) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in April 1939. I think quite a lot of men joined up at that time in anticipation of a war that hadn’t yet broken out.
