Therefore, this sickness has no right to remain in my body.” “Father, You said in Jeremiah 30:17 that You will restore health unto me. I receive restoration now.” Don’t stop there—speak to the sickness. “Every sickness in my body, I command you to leave in the name of Jesus. My body is not your home.” Affirm who you are in Christ. “I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. The life of God flows in me. Disease cannot stay in this body.” And refuse fear. “Lord, Your Word says You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Catholics confess directly to God. Protestants attack the priest as a "middleman" because sacramental confession requires what their private version avoids: contrition, accountability, and the humiliation of actually naming your sin. The Bible says to confess your sins to one another. Christ gave His apostles authority to forgive and retain sins. It does not teach "go hide alone, say a quick prayer, and call that repentance." A quick "God forgive me" costs nothing. Real confession humbles you, exposes your sin, and demands that you actually turn away from it. Something the majority of Protestants simply do not want.

We still cannot believe this happened. At a restaurant, while we were capturing our son opening his First Communion gifts, a stranger sitting near our table very loudly spewed anti-Catholic vitriol to disrupt the memory. He only stopped once our phone was put away, making his intent very clear. We chose to say nothing in the moment to protect our son's peace and preserve his joy. We are so grateful that he didn't notice the unkindness. To us, it serves as a reminder to pray for those who harbor such resentment toward our faith. May God bless this man with a change of heart. It’s absolutely true that some people declared brain dead can still hear what’s going on around them, but are unable to speak or sign that they are alive. Zack Dunlap was declared brain dead, but survived, and later told Dr. Paul Byrne that he was listening as doctors told his parents that he was “dead” and could now become an organ donor: “The next thing I remember was laying in the hospital bed, not being able to move, breathe — couldn’t do anything, on a ventilator. I heard someone say, ‘I’m sorry, he’s brain dead, he’s passing away.’ And there’s nothing I could do, just get mad. I couldn’t do anything, to sign, at all… I tried to scream, tried to move, just got extremely angry.” Thankfully, Zack managed to move forcefully enough that his organ harvesting was called off. He recovered, got married, has a daughter, and works a job. Dead people don’t get better. Brain death is not death.
