@The_Hermithood @NWSPittsburgh The "big towers" are in the downtown Golden Triangle. The Mt Washington neighborhood is just across the Mon. The Highland Park neighborhood is a couple of miles east. Both neighborhoods are in the City of Pittsburgh, not outskirts, and both have had tornadoes in my lifetime.

We received some questions about wireless emergency alerts yesterday with the tornado warning that included downtown Pittsburgh, so wanted to share this graphic to help explain. Since warnings are polygon based and not county based, just because you're in Allegheny County...

The Helsinki-Toronto flight carried 400 passengers but only had 200 meals onboard due to an airline error, leaving the crew in a tricky situation. Fortunately, a clever flight attendant devised a brilliant plan. About 30 minutes after takeoff, she made an announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m not sure how this happened, but we have 400 passengers and only 200 lunches. If anyone is willing to forgo their meal for another passenger, they will receive unlimited complimentary wine for the duration of the flight!” Six hours later, she made another announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, if anyone has changed their mind, we still have 200 meals available!” Moral of the story: Wine lovers have truly generous and kind hearts! January 26 1925 Hollywood Legend/US Navy WWII veteran Paul Newman (B-Day) would be 101! Paul d. at 83, 2008. Cool Hand Luke The Verdict Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid Slap Shot The Sting, Paul Newman founded Newman's Own & The Hole In The Wall Camp for seriously ill kids.
