OTD in 1935 FDR delivered a radio address to the Boy Scouts who had planned to attend the Silver Anniversary Jamboree at Washington, DC. FDR declared that the Jamboree was being indefinitely postponed due to an outbreak of Infantile Paralysis in the Washington, D.C. area.
