I think Mohler is an opportunist.
He was a Leftist until the Conservative Resurgence gained traction, and then he raced to the front of that and became President of SBTS.
He then opened the seminary up to the Left when CRT was taking over, and fired the 2 conservative professors who opposed it (even screaming at one of them in front of the entire faculty and calling him an idiot, despite being a beloved and seasoned professor)
And then became warm to the Right again when the Left failed and the right began to take traction again.
