55-year-old former teacher Gary Day-Davies has been jailed for 15 years for sexually abusing a pupil. He was convicted of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of sexual assault by touching a child. The court heard that he plied the victim with drugs and alcohol before carrying out the abuse. The offences took place between 2006 and 2009, both at the school where he taught and at his home. He was so brazen that he sexually abused her in the library and store cupboard in a classroom. The victim reported the abuse to police in 2022.
