Former Disney CEO Bob Iger on how he betrayed George Lucas' Star Wars vision: "George immediately got upset as they began to describe the plot and it dawned on him that we weren’t using one of the stories he submitted during the negotiations... George knew we weren’t contractually bound to anything, but he thought that our buying the story treatments was a tacit promise that we’d follow them, and he was disappointed that his story was being discarded... Now, in the first meeting with him about the future of Star Wars, George felt betrayed, and while this whole process would never have been easy for him, we’d gotten off to an unnecessarily rocky start.” What was Bob Iger thinking?

@GenePark The game isn't particularly reactive at all though - your decisions almost never have any impact on the Starfield, which is starkly barren beyond a few surface-level locales

People have issues with the fact that I loved Starfield. Here, I double down. I've played it for hundreds of hours as an AAA cozy game, and the April 7 updates will give me more of the home decor, ship building and farming sim I love. washingtonpost.com/entertainment/…

America is named after Amerigo Vespucci. His name is the Italicised form of the Germanic name Heimereik, meaning ruler of the homestead. Other etymological descendants of the name include Emerick, Heinrich, and Henry, of which Hank is a nickname. America can also legitimately be called by the name Hankland.

Among MVP candidates only Luka is talked about as a bad defender. Yet last 3 seasons his team defended better with him on the floor, while their teams defended significantly worse when Jaylen Brown or Anthony Edwards we on the floor. Same for Jalen Brunson...but no noise there.

There's been some very recent discourse about the reviews of some of our team, particularly with regard to an indie competition. To be clear: If you don't like our reviews, you don't have to read them. If this is still confusing, here's a flow chart to help.

The term "theological liberalism" is thrown around a lot. When push comes to shove though, it still boils down to Richard Niebuhr's summation of what theological liberalism truly is: "A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross" (Kingdom of God in America, 193). Liberal/progressive Christianity is more than that but it is no less than that, and it will always come down to it. Niebuhr's words 89 years ago are just as applicable in 1937 as they are today.

Tim Keller was right that applying the same biblical standard equally will often draw ire from both the political left and right. Christianity is not the mushy middle. It’s the rock on which idols are dashed.

With all the noise around Luka Dončić’s defense, there’s a side of the story people keep ignoring: 🟡 He’s taking on the second-highest volume of isolation possessions in the league only behind Alex Sarr. 🟡 In those situations, he’s limiting opponents to just 38.7% shooting. 🟡 That translates to roughly 0.9 points per possession allowed. 🟡 Among the 15 players defending the most isolations this season, that’s the second-best field goal percentage allowed. That’s not what a liability looks like. Yet the common narrative says he’s the guy offenses hunt that he’s the weak point. But if that were true, why are those same matchups shooting under 40%? That’s not easy offense. That’s contested, uncomfortable basketball. The reality isn’t extreme it’s balanced. Luka isn’t a shutdown perimeter stopper… but he’s also nowhere near the defensive “traffic cone” label people throw around. Stats don’t capture everything. But they definitely don’t support the story being told. @espn
