@World3tk Kinda similar to the left-wing hippy along the entropy-maxxing dimension but ultimately apolitical (maybe), just raw experience. Aligned more with certain forms of life (eg jellyfish) than others (eg wolves, elk) imo. Definitely exists and is a fun person to know

The right wing hippy is a much more logical archetype than the left wing hippy. Nature itself is inherently right wing (i.e. hierarchical). All left wing politics are utopian (i.e. opposed to nature); leftism is defined by the violent imposition of man-made constructions like “equality” onto a wild, unequal, raw reality; the flattening of the Cosmos. The only natural analogue to left-wing values is heat death, the theoretical end of the universe, where all structures (i.e. differences, inequalities, borders) are dissolved into a state of maximal equality (i.e. nothingness), and which all living things resist by the very act of being alive. If you love living things and desire a natural way of being, you have to be right wing

@michelleakin i remember Frank Herbert doing a good job w/ this, where everything is happening in these immense fantasy environments but he's always just dashing off a few essential details before getting back to the character interactions, leaving it mostly to the imagination

when i read books that go into a lot of detail about physical environments my eyes glaze over. i tend to have a lot of trouble picturing what's being described.
in my own writing, i tend to leave out vivd descriptors, since i am writing what i like to read. yet i know it's important for world building. hmpf.

There's a particular brand of AI-ludditeism, a subset of the kind that goes on about "using water" and "slop", that I find very low-class, almost dinergoth adjacent... I haven't really developed a thesis here I'm mainly just pinning this to investigate further.
