Ok, since you guys are convinced they're the same play, here is why they're not. Absolute, definite proof that Luka gets his right foot down just as he gathers, then takes a simple L-R into the shot. The foot that's down in this scenario is the gather step, he gets 2 steps (L-R) after that. Tatum gathers with both feet off floor, then takes 3 steps. Capisce?

I think where Tatum is concerned, the issue is where his value comes from.
I think Tatum is a top-five player in the NBA but not a top-five shot-maker or shot-creator. Those are things he seems to want for himself, but his value is much more nuanced than that.

Stan culture has totally warped the definition of “disrespect” in the NBA. Like 85% of stars are getting disrespected according to someone. I think Tatum is the fifth-best player in the NBA, and he has unique advantages over the top four. That should be enough. Idk why it isn’t.
