@Linus200712345 Oh ok. Then it's cool to say that, idk, the State of Israel is pretty all right since we can completely discount the experiences of its most vulnerable, no?

@Cernovich This is such a confused POV. Eventually maybe by mid 2030 Republicans will try to make abortion illegal and some other racist shit and guess what'll happen. US has a two party system but most Americans are moderate. Republicans will eventually go too far right and lose.

@dutch_od Lol historically communists when they came into power cared not at all for such harebrained distinctions. If I built myself a factory just to look at the Bolsheviks or CCP would appropriate it as me squatting on productive forces instead of using them

@Wumbologically It is wholly unreasonable to expect a single person to be able to build a productive factory with its included machinery without outside help, but we lived in minecraft and you could it wouldn’t be bad until you started exploiting your workers

No because you are not exploiting another person by- say- giving someone the tools to make Lathes and then claiming the lathe is your property once they’re done and they’re only entitled to a fraction of the profits.
Cooper@CooperZurad

So I had a genuine conversation with an avowed communist discussing this point. We made it simple. A lathe. What if I were to acquire and fabricate all of the components of a lathe myself? Would I be bourgeoise? Eventually it all came down to, "uh yeah and we'd have to K you"

@tyschalter @JuanIsidro @woke8yearold It's important to remember that the side that's really concerned liking 80s pop culture too much in an evil White and Male way actually doesn't care about the culture war and only wants everyone to have free healthcare

Prior to ~2012 American culture was earnest in a way that zoomers would find incomprehensible. No irony, no one cared about being cringe. They were totally cool with being le epic bacon chungus. The webcomic Ctrl Alt Delete represents this era to me

@Wumbologically Even if you made a lathe under a fully developed late stage communist society that lathe would be your personal property. The fundamental relationship between you and the means of production is not comparable to a full factory.

@whozgrimez I agree with the message I just think the formatting is a stupid gimmick and without it no one would think it's 'one of the greatest poems of the 20th century'

@BoomDrive @White_Janissary >“Feminist hate men and only wanna privilege women and evil minorities” was the popular narrative going around. And the geek feminist crowd were the ones saying this?

@White_Janissary I was an anti-feminist back in 2016. “Feminist hate men and only wanna privilege women and evil minorities” was the popular narrative going around. The boys didn’t “get over it” or “appreciate the honesty”. They just voted Trump.

The “growing anti-feminism” of Gen Z men, especially in lib cities, isn’t a result of their political views or the manosphere. Its that being a feminist in that environment requires young men to accept a totally parallel reality where every office is a Mad Men style boys club.

One of the craziest things in my 20s was finding out that nearly every post college woman I knew somehow had a "mentor," ie a boomer male who went out of his way to professionally guide her

@larppromax That's true to some small extent, but physical upper body strength matters less in the modern world/economy than it ever has before in human history, and seems like it will only continue to matter less in the future.

My favorite one is this: Men are stronger and more capable than women, so men should be more responsible. As Uncle Ben said, with great power comes great responsibility, and male strength is definitely a great power compared to female
Spring Youth@MusingsOfYouth

It doesn't appear that people like you have an actual argument as to why the playing field for economic opportunity between men & women should be be "equal" while the "responsibility" for the problems that follow should be distributed asymmetrically to men.

Yeah they do. It's convenient when they want to say something slick and can't think of any particular pejorative for South Asians, esp in millennial circles, but there's plenty for the term "Asian" woman - servile, shrewish, accented, immigrant
🔎Al🔍@SweatieAngle

Racist dude was talking about the JPMorgan Chase sexual harassment lawsuit and was like “I know it’s bullshit - there’s no way a horny white American lady is calling someone’s Indian wife ‘Asian’” 🤔😧honestly that’s probably right

In making lore for a space game I asked my racist cousin to come up with slurs for alien races based on description You gotta have a highly varied cabinet to consult
NON@NON21848128

Gonna be real, if you want to come up with a slur for your fictional world, you have to tap into your inner-bigot, no matter how progressive or woke you are, try to think like one. Otherwise, you get stupid terms like "ash maker" that sound cool af instead of derogatory.

@Headqarters_69 ? The parks exist to benefit Americans regardless how big the current yearly budget for them is. BTW it is because of profitable decisions like charging foreign tourists what they're willing to pay that the NPS can keep operating even with a budget reduction (to $2.2 billion)

@Wumbologically That’s why we’re defunding the NPS right? Because the parks exist to benefit Americans

@Wumbologically Yes &? AIDs was the leading cause of death for middle aged men during the 90s? Six years is a long time for a disease to not be recognized? Years is a long time for a president to not say it? Are you ok?

Even if what you were saying wasn’t incorrect & a revisionism to promote your homophobia, to this day 13 percent of the 1.2 mil people in the USA do not know they have HIV. Furthermore, PreP is life saving medicine decreasing new hiv infection rates 12 percent from 2018 to 2022
arctotherium@arctotherium42

A common normie folk belief is that AIDS was ignored by The Establishment out of homophobia. The opposite is true; AIDS became the most researched disease in human history within a few years, and gay orgs strenuously fought measures that might have stopped it.
