3/25 is the date the One Ring is destroyed on Mount Doom. This date is not accidental: Tolkien, being a devout Catholic, chose it because it coincides with the Annunciation (March 25th in the Christian liturgical calendar, when the angel announces the birth of Jesus to Mary) and is also historically related to the traditional date of Christ's crucifixion (Good Friday in some older calculations). It represents a "rebirth" or victory of good over evil, similar to themes of resurrection and the hope of spring. For this reason, March 25th is celebrated worldwide as Tolkien Reading Day, where fans read passages from his books or watch the films. Gandalf mentions that in Gondor the New Year now begins on March 25th.

Plot Twist: Consensys just takes the open-source XRPL code and replicates it to create an identical blockchain with all the same functions. There is literally nothing to stop them doing so from a legal or technical standpoint that I'm aware of.
