.@Timodc: Would you vote against Markwayne Mullin for a cabinet position? .@JamesTalarico: I would. I would be a no on any potential secretary who is not willing to tear down this secret police force and replace it with an agency that's actually focused on public safety. The fact that we have the most powerful politicians in the country terrorizing my former students and their families is immoral, unconscionable, and unacceptable. We should be cracking down on the cartels, not our communities. We should be deporting gang members, not small business owners. We should be hunting down human traffickers, not moms and babies. Americans are looking for leaders who are going to be both pro-immigrant and pro-security.

I need people to understand, that while America is at war, our soldiers are dying, we are on the verge of an international energy catastrophe and people in Texas are literally running out of water, THIS is what our Texas State Government is focused on. Every single seat is in play. This is an unacceptable dereliction of duty by our state government. We are DONE.

As a Jewish lawyer who attended a James Talarico rally in Midland TX with a Muslim Physician and listened to a speech that included a sermon on "Blessed are those who weep" , I can assure you Talarico is resonating with not only Texans but a nation. Free link @nytimes Op-ed.👇

I’m running a campaign backed by everyday people while my billionaire-backed opponent is bankrolled by the same right-wing lobbies that fund Trump’s agenda. I’m proud to say that I’ve never taken money from the pro-Israel lobby, big pharma, ICE contractors, or the utilities companies that are responsible for skyrocketing prices here in St. Louis. Together, our movement will take the values of St. Louis back to DC.

BREAKING: A Texas town is about to run out of water. This is before the data centers come to take our water. Imagine how many more towns will run dry if we allow the Greedy Few to monopolize our water. Sign our petition if you want a TX Ag Commissioner who fights to protect our water >> claytontuckertx.com/water #water #datacenter #centraltexas

Have you noticed your utility bills going up? Me too. That's because Greg Abbott wants to reward his billionaire donors by building more data centers on our dime. These buildings are owned by the richest men in the world - they should pay for themselves. texastribune.org/2026/02/13/tex…

BREAKING: A planned expansion of the Abilene data center is being cancelled. While not a full cancellation, this is still important progress towards protecting our water supplies and preventing mass power inflation. For those who are resisting the data centers coming to mess with Texas: thank you. Keep it up. For those who are not sure what to think, check out our website to learn more about what these centers may do to Texas. Link in bio

President @BarackObama called this week to congratulate me on the campaign we’re building to take on Abbott. Something special is happening here and the world is taking notice of the momentum that is growing across Texas. Texans are hungry for change — we're all in and we can do this.

GET YOUR MOTOR RUNNING! The race for the Democratic nomination for Texas Attorney General is going to a May 26 runoff. I’m in it, and I intend to win it First, thank you. Thank you to every volunteer, every supporter, every student leader, every grassroots organization, and every voter who put their trust in this campaign. Over the past months we traveled across Texas together, building a coalition that believes the Office of Attorney General must serve the people, not the powerful. Because of you, we are still standing and still fighting. You have my eternal loyalty and gratitude. Second, I deeply respect my colleague Tony Box who became my friend on the campaign trail. He has a bright future in Texas Democratic politics, and I look forward to helping him win his next run for office. And, third, there is another important takeaway here. Even with the advantages of senate incumbency and the support of the Austin political establishment, my opponent could not reach 50 percent of the vote. That tells us something very important about this race and about the direction Texas Democrats want to go. They want a fighter. I am that fighter. They want an Attorney General who will defend voting rights, protect free speech, challenge corruption, and stand up to MAGA extremism without compromise, without selling out the vulnerable. That is exactly what my campaign has been about from the beginning. I deeply believe in those values and I will lead that way if elected. Now we enter the next chapter. From today until May 26, we will take our message to Democrats across Texas in a clear, one-on-one contest about the future of this office and the future of our party. You have a choice: There’s my opponent, the deal maker legislator who voted in the 2016 Republican primary and in the 2016 Republican primary runoff, and who, just in the most recent legislative session, voted for MAGA-inspired laws to ban Pride Flags, unconstitutionally supress free speech on campus, limit SNAP benefits, and require a constitutional amendment that will be used to support Trump’s call to produce birth certificates when Texans register to vote. That’s my opponent. Based on his record, I dont trust him to be an unapologetic democrat once he’s in office. So, I’m running to make sure he doesn’t get the nomination. And there’s me: a former mayor of Galveston who courageously fought bullies and racists to build first class community, mixed income public housing after Hurricane Ike. I’m also a full time lawyer who has a three decade history of taking on and beating the powerful in Court. I work as a lawyer and mediator every day while campaigning for Texas Attorney General, keeping my sense of who I am real and grounded: I’m a full time lawyer and mediator helping clients every day. I’m not a politician like my opponent; I’m running to serve Texas, not to advance my political career. Above all, I love my family and would never do anything to hurt or disappoint them. I am loyal to my wife Rebecca, and I’m hiding nothing from my personal life that would give the Republican nominee an advantage in November. I will continue doing what I have done throughout this campaign: doing the work, traveling the state, meeting voters face to face, answering questions, and showing Texans exactly the kind of Attorney General I will be. The road to May 26 starts today. I am grateful for your support, and I respectfully ask for your vote in the May 26 runoff election. ONWARD!
