Listen. There are two sorts of bits: The one coming from understanding, like if *I* write "2+2=4", this string is encoded in u-bits, understood-bits, good stuff.
Whereas ChatGPT writing "2+2=4" produces a string of fs-bits, aka fancy-statistics-bits. Which are crap.

@Rafael_L_Spring Which is super annoying, because the only way I am using cursor, is to remotely access the VMs with some AI capabilities. Claude code is not nice for reading the code, and Cursor removing its only advantage is stupid.

To judge the information given by a statement you have to contrast with the person saying the opposite. If it is unlikely that the person, with his interests, says the opposite, then there is no much information given. It is like saying that it didn’t rain in the desert today.

I have a bunch of secret AI benchmarks I only reveal when they fall, and today one did. I give the AI 1000 words written by me and never published, and ask them who the author is. They generally give flattering wrong answers (see ChatGPT, below:)

when i was a baby my dad was driving me late at night and a drunk driver asleep at the wheel hit us head-on. my dad was in a coma for weeks. i needed hundreds of stitches. i still have a massive scar.
many years later, i got to work at waymo during the first few years we were testing, launching, and scaling in sf. there was a huge amount to do, but it all felt pretty fucking amazing when we got to see logs like this. superhuman moments.
it's easy to write off these things as just another expensive uber competitor for techies who don't want to talk to people. but humans behind the wheel are one of the top causes of death and injury globally. and one day not long from now self driving cars will make the kinds of accidents that happened to me a thing of the past.

Speed matters. A @Waymo vehicle was driving in a 25mph zone in LA when an oncoming car swerved into our lane while speeding up to over 70mph… 3x the speed means 9x the destructive energy. Good to see the Waymo Driver react early and safely to make room.

I built this thing called Clicky.
It's an AI teacher that lives as a buddy next to your cursor.
It can see your screen, talk to you, and even point at stuff, kinda like having a real teacher next to you.
I've been using it the past few days to learn Davinci Resolve, 10/10.

New AI paper from us this week. When my student first showed me his initial findings, I really didn’t know what to make of them. I felt that this was an interesting but curious loophole phenomenon that would shortly be closed. I was very wrong. arxiv.org/abs/2603.21687
