Do you want the REAL reason behind @humidifi ICO? Simple - they are unprofitable. That’s why they are offering a fee rebate token. You might be surprised because they basically have 50% of Solana DEX volume, how that can be? But as a liquidity provider and someone who is well versed in all things liquidity, I can tell you that AMMs on Solana have a very good playbook on how to actually do this. The most likely explanation is that HumidiFi is quoting using a VERY low fee like 0.001% or something even lower. I can’t guarantee that, and I have no evidence, but we saw this, for example, with Stabble (if you remember this). Low fees and propAMM tight quotes lead to them capturing almost all volume. But as someone who provides liquidity, I can assure you it is difficult to stay profitable with 0.04% fees, which HumidiFi definitely doesn’t charge. IL (Impermanent loss) eats basically all profits in today’s market even with 0.02% or something like this, and I can’t imagine how propAMMs solve this. Tighter quotes - more fees, but more IL. So no, they didn’t make 3m$.
