@ZacBeThompson @stealcase Had to have been someone’s boss standing over their shoulder telling them to use AI lol “See? Look how quick that was! It looks so good, no one will ever notice. Move on now.” Seriously doubt there was ever intent to replace such assets but now ofc they have to lie to save face.

They’re using the “it was all placeholder art” excuse. Why not just use public domain art as placeholders then?

We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert. During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production. However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced, following final work and review by our art and development teams, with work that aligned with our quality standards and creative direction. Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it. We also acknowledge that we should have clearly disclosed our use of AI. While these tools were primarily used during early production, with the expectation that these assets would be replaced prior to release, we recognize that this does not excuse the lack of transparency. We sincerely apologize for these oversights. We are currently conducting a comprehensive audit of all in-game assets and are taking steps to replace any affected content. Updated assets will be rolled out in upcoming patches. In parallel, we are reviewing and strengthening our internal processes to ensure greater transparency and consistency in how we communicate with players moving forward.

Felt like drawing/designing a dragon oni character or something. Kind of MH/DMC inspired. Unsure how far I'll take it, but it'd be fun to fully realize and sculpt someday. It was good practice painting scales/horns either way. Hair or no hair? With reminds me of Lorian from DS3.

Reminiscing about when I was working on this low poly Silver Knight for a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite mod. Adhering to the original hunter's proportions/making it compatible with other armor pieces was kind of hurting my confidence. So wide for a Silver Knight lol, esp. the hips

"DS2 is so ganky, you can't enter fogwalls bc you have no iframes" like bro just literally take the 10-20 seconds to kill the enemies and move on. It's not that deep lol imagine I would have ran to the fog gate and gotten killed how dumb would that be 🤣

@ITheshepherd @PraiseTheFrom It’s true that you COULD go that way for them, but 1) the video quality is so bad I can’t tell if the gate is even opened and 2) it’s the longer/worse way. I actually doubt it’s even intended to be a shortcut for the boss specifically just because of how out of the way it is.

Working on Freya in PT, DS2 always does cave openings well, I didn't realize earlier this arena was open to sky, now the spot lights are disabled here and arena lighting is done with Boosted sky light + low sun, the sun specifically only falls on the dragon

@LJJ3k @conckrete @xProdz_ Well, it sort of was in fact intended to replace the original when you consider it’s the only one available in the PS store/on a modern console in the first place. They didn’t even title it with “Remake” either.

@conckrete @xProdz_ They hate it because it does a different aesthetic interpretation, leaning more on Tolkien pop fantasy. But the people who hate it also seem to think remakes are intended to replace the originals, instead of just treating them as an addition to the original
