For those who have not been able to pick up on sarcasm & satire, I do apologize. 1. Exclusives do matter. 2. Exclusives are not just game titles. 3. Exclusives exist in every capitalist market. 4. To say exclusive game titles should not be permitted while other product differentiators that can only be offered by one company due to scope & scale, patents, copyright, etc is hypocritical. And shows a lack of understanding in how capitalism works. "Let us compete" is not limited to "Let us acquire and conduct unabated consolidation". 5. Consumers benefit the most when suppliers offer multiple business models; when all suppliers are forced to conform to one business model and buyers must conform to one means of consumption, buyers suffer by having lesser choice. 6. When product differentiators are eliminated, suppliers seek to produce lowest cost products, and quality products become scarce as the sole differentiator becomes price. Products become commodities; pork-bellies. 7. People use product differentiators as tie-breakers. If all things btn two products are the same...if 90% of the games are the same...if the HW is 90% the same tech...then consumers are making decisions based on whatever is left over that is different. 8. Everyone is not ONLY choosing PS5 & Nintendo Switch / Switch 2 over XB Series based on where their friends are playing b/c we have cross-play. That theory also skates by the fact that new gamers are coming into the market every day who do not have a preponderance of friends already on one platform. 9. Those new gamers also do not have a pre-existing gaming library, so they are not buying solely based on where their digital library already exists. The choice is a greenfield for them. 10. CLV is more important than ARPU, & ARPU is more important than MAU. Throw ARPPU anywhere in there you like. A lot of MAU with lesser revenue actually means you have lower-value customers, and that despite the higher MAU they are not driving your business to greater market-share. 11. At scale, the entire market is not making decisions based SOLELY on exclusives. It is ONE differentiator amongst many. But it IS a differentiator. Saying they are not in the equation AT ALL is playing gaming politics and pandering. 12. XBox has expended $100bn+ in acquisitions since Mojang in order to be #2 in revenue. They have the least amount of market share. PlayStation makes the greatest amount of revenue amongst the Big Three. Nintendo has the highest profit margins amongst the Big Three. Those are quantifiable & objective facts. Denying them is believing the earth is flat. Spinning them is a grift. You can decide from there on your own who is following the best strategy. Some of you guys appear to be new around my feed. These are the basic tenets. I've been trying to present them in some more interesting fashion than a listicle. My apologies if that caused confusion. I can use the TEDtalk format instead. Feel free to like and subscribe to this account or the podcast channels. The message is the same. And consistent. These are the 12 Proverbs. @PaulTassi Makes sense if your having funding issues on a project, bring time to value forward (usually done by descoping something), project becomes self funding earlier and march on with the Xbox version. This is one of the reasons I don’t have much of an issue with timed exclusives.

@Xvault2 Feel like people talk about exclusives like they are 90% of all games and launching multi plat games is something new! As long as exclusives remain a small sub set of games used to promote a system/hardware I really don’t see the threat to the industry or them going anywhere.

- Jez is wrong. - His thesis is built on false constructs, and the results he draws, logically, are also then incorrect. Exponentially so. - Units sold and revenue are not profitability. It is not the sole KPI that qualifies a successfully strategy and its supporting OKRs. I shouldn't have to correct this every week in the multiple conversations in the gaming community. We also need to consider ARPU, ARPPU, and CLV. - It's not simple math. It's not even algebra. The effort to flatten the complexity is why the assessments are so often incorrect. - The simple math is that consumers make tie-breakers when down-selecting. Based on criteria; on un-alikes. On product differentiators. - The things keeping PlayStation from doing day-and-date are the strategic tenets that they have told you about and have been telling you about, most especially since the Annual Investor week calls of May, the earnings calls since, and the published strategy slides. Why some choose not to listen I am often bewildered by. Making things up instead of listening to the published matters of record. The silliness is the weekly politicking to try and congeal a thing into being just by stating it over and over, that is not correct, based on personal wants and desires, instead of listening and actually doing business and technical analysis too derive objective conclusions.

taking fandom and feelings out of the discussion: Jez out here choosing violence BUT he isn't wrong the more accessible you make your game, the more people will buy and play your game it's simple math Other than Nintendo, no one is really exclusive anymore with a few exceptions (Astro Bot) Xbox fully ripped the band aid and IMO the only thing stopping PlayStation from being day and date on PC is everything Mark Cerny said about their shift in development with Project Amethyst Long post but I'll end it saying, it's your choice so play wherever you want, there are too many games across multiple platforms to be concerned where other people decide to play the silly arguments over console wars is at an end

Update on my Xbox ROG Ally X After a third & unsuccessful factory reset the friendly agent from the Microsoft support suggested to exchange my Xbox Ally X (due to possible hardware issues) with my retailer (Media Markt/Saturn). Media Markt was supportive as well, said an exchange would not be any problem - but I might need to expect waiting times reaching from January to March 2026. So I can’t believe I’m writing this … but I took a refund. I was one of the biggest ambassadors for this device, I was hyping it for months. I still think it’s beautiful and I might give it another chance when it becomes available again next year. But for me it’s very important not to sugarcoat anything because I want to be open & honest to you all. If you have a great experience with it and no issues at all - all power to you, I’m happy for you. My experience was disappointing. 1️⃣I paid >€1,000 (w warranty extension) 2️⃣Didn’t get it on launch (4 weeks later) 3️⃣It was not working when I got it 4️⃣Now I need to wait till 2026 Well … jokes are on me now I guess. 😅

I’ve had severe issues with the setup of my Xbox Ally X today. 😢 My summary after 8 hours: 💔Drivers didn’t want to install 💔My Xbox ID made problems in connection with my windows ID 💔The Ally was convinced I wasn’t subscribed to game pass (I AM!) 💔I’ve had 2 calls with Microsoft agents logging into my device via remote control trying to fix registry entries (in the Microsoft store) … 💔… including an unsuccessful factory reset 💔The device crashed 3 times 💔I had to restart it at least a dozen times for each change we did 💔The games I was able to test (Arc Raiders, Blood, Silent Hill f) showed bad performance with low FPS and screen tearing (even after technical optimization - I checked twice if I did it right) 💔It didn’t recognize the mics I used (Jabra Evolve & Air pods) I’m fully aware I might be a rare case of extremely bad luck but I can’t say that this is a good first look. Giving it another try tomorrow.
