The new year 5 children made a fantastic start to life at Birchensale yesterday. Today they begin their academic lessons across the curriculum meeting all their new teachers. Good luck to all!

Thank you to @MAA_Charity for providing a unique and exciting opportunity for the children highlighting the necessity of the vital work you do each and every day. The children loved hearing about your job and of course getting the chance to sit in the helicopter.

The motorway police also popped in to explain the details of their job and their daily experiences. They were all intrigued by the stinger and couldn’t wait to see what sitting in the drivers seat sounding the siren felt like.

Thank you SSgt Kent from the @37SigRegt for coming and talking to the children about your experiences and the vital role of the @BritishArmy. You were an inspiration to the children with many now considering a future career.

On the last day of term the year 5’s were visited by some extra special visitors on the playground to tie in with the lessons they have been partaking within life skills on keeping safe.

The day finished with an incredible rendition of ‘This is Me’ which was an extremely fitting end as these incredible experiences and the fun had today highlight exactly who we are at Birchensale. Thank you to all of our visitors, today would not have been possible without you.

The tote bag design activity would not have been possible without the extremely generous donation of the bags from @ILoveDoodlebag, these high quality durable bags will continue to be carried with pride by the children throughout a fun filled summer of activities.
