Florida remains committed to longstanding constitutional protections for voluntary prayer and religious expression in our public schools. I applaud the Trump administration’s updated guidance that reaffirms those protections for all students, teachers and school personnel. I sent a letter to parents outlining the updated guidance and explaining @EducationFL’s process to safeguard the freedom of religious expression in all of Florida’s public schools.

Thank you to @LeeSchools, Superintendent @Dhatherop, and the Lee County School Board for paving the way for this student-first policy that will be implemented by school districts across the state!

Having guardians in schools is one of the most effective ways to ensure highly trained personnel are in place to respond to an active assailant. HB 757 extends the guardian program to postsecondary institutions, ensuring students have access to safe and secure learning environments.
