I asked Dan Lanning a question I’ve never asked him before and I learned this: 🦆 @OregonFootball has created a culture and standard in Eugene that is living out the DNA Traits that he laid out upon arrival 5 years ago — Connection, Growth, Toughness and Sacrifice. I haven't been to Notre Dame since the early 2000s as a player at Pitt or coach at USC. Walking across campus the nostalgia hit hard. Heartbreaking to read about Steven Miller, recall him fondly from calling so many ASU games during his career. The staff always spoke so highly of him, as did his teammates. My college roommate at Pitt, Larry Fitzgerald, is about to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Larry wasn’t just great, he was the most dominate player in the sport, turning every 50-50 ball into a 90-10 guarantee. Seeing Jeremiah Smith do the same thing at @OhioStateFB puts him in extremely rare air. Beyond their 6'3" size and elite body control, it's about the feeling you get when the ball is thrown their way. If he keeps this up, we might be watching another Hall of Famer in the making.
