Millions of people in the UK have been saying the same thing for decades. Our governments are failing us. They are more concerned with being in thrall to their corporate lobbyists than actually fixing the many problems in the country - which in many cases, they cause. The UK has been plundered and asset stripped for corporate gain. Record tax burden. Cost of living crisis. Rotting infrastructures. Small businesses being punished. High streets hollowed out. We are paying more and getting less in return. The decline is noticeable everywhere. It’s absolutely shameful. Governments should be wholeheartedly serving us rather than their corporate cronies. And until this happens, the decline will continue. Enough is enough.

@FemaleScotlandV Small town in Scotland here, and our high street has 3 shops, all selling fake cigarettes and whatever else. Police have raided them a few times, but they dont close. Young foreign men, mercs and audis. We have two Turkish barber shops also.

Who are all these new businesses opening up in streets? It seems like lots of them are run by foreign nationals, many are not registered on companies house, they are an eyesore, disconnected from the communities they exist in, and it’s not clear if there is an overview from the Council. What do the Council actually do? The streets in town centres are a disgrace, dirty, shambolic. They look like shanty towns.
