This hairy Nigerian lady said constant rejection from landlords has pushed her into isolation, depression, and emotional stress. “I have been rejected several times by some landlords and caretakers in Port Harcourt just because I have a beard. My father married my mum with a son from another man and we see him as our BIG brother right from childhood. My father passed away recently without a WILL and this BIG brother is insisting that he will take over my father's property as the first son and he will have share in my father's property I told him clearly, you are not my father's son and you have no right to his inheritance. @Dammi_Esq This is honestly unfair. A small tattoo shouldn’t lead to being thrown out at night. His reaction was extreme, marriage should be about communication, not punishment. For now, stay somewhere safe and let things cool off, but this goes beyond the tattoo, it’s about respect.

I got a small tattoo on my breast, which I did myself. My husband only noticed it later that night, around 10:30pm, when we were about to sleep. He became very angry and sent me out of the house over that small tattoo. Even when our neighbours and landlord tried to beg him, he refused to listen. He pushed me out and forced me to leave the house close to 11pm. I had nowhere to go, so I ended up spending the night at a church vigil on our street. I later contacted the tattoo artist about removing it, but he said it’s risky to do so now because it’s still fresh. He advised me to wait for about two months before removal. When I explained this to my husband, he told me to go and stay at my parents’ house for those two months. My parents have tried calling him to settle things, but he has refused to pick their calls. Right now, I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

Someone I know got married the same year I did, and she’s still waiting for her husband in Nigeria. He travelled out shortly after the wedding. I’m already three children in…she has none. These men will marry women, leave them behind for years, then build a whole life elsewhere, sometimes even with children, while expecting the woman at home to remain faithful. If you knew you were going to leave, why get married in the first place? Why put someone else’s life on hold like that?

Not sure if you have been to South Africa, but seeing what is happening on the ground with regards to illegal foreigners will give you a better perspective. There is a total disregard for laws & bylaws by many illegal foreigners. They trade illegally in places where they are not supposed to trade. They trade with no trading license. They often discard dirt on street corners because they are unofficially living in places with no payments of rates and taxes, council services, etc. Even if they have lived for years in the country, they are still illegally living in South Africa. Many have come on visitor visa's and never returned home. They live in South Africa with no official documentation. No work permits. And in many cases, no official address. Many also live in hijacked buildings, where the buildings have been hijacked by other illegal foreigners. Many of these building connect illegally to water & electricity. When we see these type of videos, it does look very sad and no one wants to see this type of intimidation, but one has to understand what is happening on the ground to get a full picture.

This breaks my heart. Seeing him shaking, scared, and helpless is something no human being should ever have to go through. It’s time we start asking ourselves hard, honest questions. What kind of society are we becoming if we turn against one another like this? South African citizens living abroad are not treated this way, yet here we are, choosing to bully and attack fellow Africans living among us. We cannot normalize this madness. We cannot stay silent. Enough is enough. This must stop.
