Does anyone else think that this #SfN2021 poster format is hyper stressful?
This is borderline torture for me.

Excited to talk about my most recent work on zona incerta combinatorial dopamine and GABA neurons at #ViDA2021
Catch my talk on Stream 2, this Thursday at 2:20pm

Honored to be selected to give a talk as part of this fantastic series, looking forward to sharing some very new data for the first time!

@alfcnz @matplotlib @TDTneuro I am using pyqt5.
I am still figuring out how I want the images displayed. Right now I'm just displaying JPGs, but I tried to write in a way where this can be changed easily since I know it's not optimum. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
English

@ZDBrodnik @matplotlib @TDTneuro What library are you using for the GUI? Also, the aspect ratio of those images are skewed. You can display vector graphic or even figures directly.
English

@astrochunly @matplotlib @TDTneuro I will eventually, but I'm not sure I am ready to share everything just yet. Some of the analysis scripts I am using are updates to the common procedure or are completely novel.
I probably want to publish those in some way before giving the general public access.

@ZDBrodnik @matplotlib @TDTneuro Create a GitHub issue for this and have people comment and vote up!

@HistedLab @TDTneuro The worker then signals a dictionary back to the main thread, and the user can use the display to view the JPGs.
There are problems with this, but it's simple and modular so I like it while I'm still working on things.
English

@ZDBrodnik @TDTneuro A question, would love your feedback:
What is the GUI approach you think is best? Matplotlib embedded in Qt5? This is what I'm using now, on Mac.
But there are several other approaches: Web-based plotting, faster Matplotlib replacements.
English

@HistedLab @TDTneuro I only started coding in March or so of last year, so I am sure there are more efficient ways to do a lot of what I am doing.
What I am doing right now is running the analysis in a separate thread that uses mayplotlib, saves the images as JPG.

@ZDBrodnik @TDTneuro a cannula made of python. the name recommendation:)

@sofiyahupalo @TDTneuro I think this is a strong front runner.

Excited to finally share this.
This was a passion project that had little to do with my thesis work, and is the second half of a wonderful collaboration with @svmahler. My final first author out of the España lab @DrexelMedicine .

@AnnieCholines Honestly, I was prepared for rejection on this one, it was a first submission and a high journal. I'm just confused about the positive reviews.
