Former IPCC reviewer Stephen Koonin says "the climate crisis is exaggerated."
Speaking on a recent panel, Koonin argued that climate science was misrepresented to justify policy.
He noted that many climate models run too hot, producing twice the warming observed.
These oversensitive models were communicated to policymakers and the public, while uncertainty was downplayed or omitted.
Koonin linked this to real world outcomes: higher power prices, weaker grids, rushed decarbonisation and reduced energy access.
