My heart is broken. If you’re ever lucky enough to land a true franchise-carrying sports unicorn and all time great — Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Steph, Dirk — you don’t trade them. You build an empire around them. You thank the Sports gods for being so generous to have miraculously blessed your life with an absolute miracle. This is the single worst trade I've ever seen in my life. I am so angry I was born and raised in Dallas. Between the Cowboys and now the Mavs, I am in sports hell.

For years, Mavs fans have been terrified that Luka Doncic would eventually demand a trade out of Dallas to a team like… the Lakers. He never did. The Mavs organization, instead, made the biggest fear of its fans come true.
