@RiftboundMeta What do you expect the card to do? It trades action speed for flexibility and Flow. It doesn't just replace Ride, but it can play alongside it, particularly in Mind + Chaos.

@MomSkyRB We've seen like 10% of the set, no idea what other synergies might come along. An optional free discard on an average body isn't great at the moment, but it has high potential as a role player and there isn't anything wrong with people getting excited over that.

Is everyone like MTG pilled or something how would you ever want Punching Poro over Traveling Merchant or Shadow Order Disciple. They both fill trash without griefing your hand in the color that actually interacts with trash Discard from hand for +1 to a 2/2 is atrocious
LS@LSXYZ9

@MomSkyRB this card isn't even bad, and likely will find aid in future sets as discard type things as a whole mechanic has yet to exist.

@Vero_TCG Might be a hot take, but I think AC is worse for the game than TAG. TAG makes winning faster easier, but it won't always shorten the game by a turn; AC essentially always increase the number of turns to win by one.

It's about time these cards are banned from Riftbound in favor of less non games and more interesting battlefield metas. Yes or no? #riftbound

@bobbyberk Foster the People - Torches Though I'd have ~6 min leftover; it's a quick listen with no skips.

Name the album you'd listen to front to back right now if someone handed you headphones and 45 minutes of silence. Go.

@SaffronOlive He's an old hero from WW2 within the canon. He's named after the "whizzing" sound be makes when he runs; the English language and related slang were different back then.

I don't know what this guy did to anger the Marvel gods, but it seems like the ultimate super hero low roll to somehow get super powers only to be named "the whizzer" with a piss yellow suit.

@DaCrabsMTG @SaffronOlive This is to prevent abusive slow play to steal game 1 then clock out the match. It seems like a non-issue with proper rules enforcement (specifically slow play), but they decided they did not want to deal with that. IMO a 1-0-1 score should go to the player that is up a game. 2/2

@DaCrabsMTG @SaffronOlive I'm not a YuGiOh player, I've just seen it come up in similar discussions on this topic, so I don't really know. They do have matches go to time enough that it makes a meaningful difference. One thing I don't agree with is, in their system a 1-0-1 match score is a double loss 1/2

I'm sure it's not easy to do in practice, but I wish we could just ban intentional draws.

@DaCrabsMTG @SaffronOlive You can't just remove IDs, you have to remove all draws. Yu-Gi-Oh did this by making a draw = a loss, so players are heavily incentivized to never draw.

@SaffronOlive Almost impossible unfortunately. I’d hate to be running events that go to time the last two rounds because players wanting to draw just stare at each other until time is called. Also, having time to use the restroom during draws is a benefit of doing well at an event 😂

@SaffronOlive I agree in principle, I'm just not sure how to make it work. Afaik the only way to make never drawing work is to treat a draw as a loss or otherwise make draws of any kind not possible.

@player1129949 @LSXYZ9 ...because they are domain restricted. If I want to "splash" a powerful removal spell in MtG, I just have to make the mana work, something that has been increasingly easy in recent years, and I can always pick the generically best option. 2/2

@player1129949 @LSXYZ9 Yes, there are bonus prizes awarded for the best performing player on a given Legend at specifically this level of play. Restrictions breed innovation in this context; if I want to be able to remove a large unit, I can't just shove Vengeance or Rebuke into every deck...1/2

People have absolutely no idea how wildly crazy this kind of a meta breakdown is. Yes metal cards play a big part in it, but this is impossible in other games. Legit so amazing. Riot continues to take an existing genre game and elevate it. Riot are refiners that almost never miss

@player1129949 @LSXYZ9 This means, mana base allowing, that you can always include the most powerful and/or efficient versions of each effect in any given deck. Thus the same suite of powerful cards will show up again and again in similar strategies, unless there is reason to find an alternative. 2/2

@player1129949 @LSXYZ9 The simple answer is that there is no incentive to chase diversity for its own sake in MtG. In a competitive environment, the only goal is winning; there is no extra prize for winning in a unique way. Furthermore, MtG's systems allow for virtually unrestricted deck building. 1/2

Dangerous question time ⚠️ Do you find 'gaming' culture, in general, leans more to the right or left wing, ideologically. Not, which way do YOU lean, but based on your time in the hobby, which side do you seem to encounter more often.
