They have their reasons im sure. Just sad to see the same issue be a problem this far in the future.

This Spider-Man 2 sales data might reveal why Sony is pulling away from PC.
- Over 16 million units sold on PS5 as of late 2025.
- 700,000 on Steam.
- PS5 version still selling between 100-200k monthly, Steam sales stagnant.
It's also worth noting Spider-Man 2 was the fastest PS5 release to PC port Sony has done this generation.

Breaking: Microsoft is reportedly bringing back the ability to move the taskbar to the top or left/right sides on Windows 11. Microsoft will also let you resize the taskbar, similar to Windows 10. Microsoft previously denied feedback requests to add back the movable taskbar because it disrupts the user experience, particularly the flow of animations. Microsoft is also scaling back Copilot efforts in Windows to win back users. How do you want Microsoft to improve Windows?

@Zeditious @TechPowerUp @GamersNexus Given your GPU, you should definitely move to nvidia-open. It's by far the superior variant and is even strongly recommended by Nvidia. The closed-source drivers are only reserved for older series cards at this point. And in the coming years, the Nova module will be finally 100%.

@k_buckleys @TechPowerUp @GamersNexus Ahh you may be right about VKD3D, my apologies. I have a 5080. Supposedly the work on VKD3D addresses the performance issues with Linux and Nvidia.
It’s much higher level than my understanding but it gives the desired descriptor heaps to NV cards vs the current method.

@Zeditious @TechPowerUp @GamersNexus Ah, the frame-rate discrepancy, that is true. But I thought DXVK was for DX11? Perhaps you meant VKD3D if we're talking DX12? The main problem is stemming from Nvidia's own proprietary drivers, not the Noveau module. If you have a 20 series or newer, you should use nvidia-open.

@k_buckleys @TechPowerUp Poor frame rate compared to Windows on DX12 titles. There’s a solution on the way in DXVK but it’s in an NDA’d beta right now.
@GamersNexus did a good video on it recently. In some titles, the 9070XT exceeds the 5090 by a large margin.

@FORMATghost_ @TheGhostOfHope Microsoft reports that data quarterly during their earnings reports. They WERE betting on it growing game pass numbers, but they mostly stayed flat iirc. I’m sure people who normally wouldn’t play CoD tried it bc of GP, but I doubt they gained enough subs to cover the sales loss.

There is a lot of people within Xbox/Activision/COD studios etc who don't agree with Game Pass and there is also a lot of people who do agree with it. Black Ops 6 being on Game Pass was a huge gamble for them and missing out on 300 Million dollars in revenue is a pretty crazy number.

REPORT: I spoke to several Call of Duty developers who say that the recent price increase for Game Pass from $19.99 to $29.99 is a positive for the Call of Duty studios. Financially, this will be a win for them as individuals because it will lead to more revenue which means they are more in control of their future and what they can achieve. There is also a lot more financial upside with bonuses and such if they are successful now. The news of a price increase also means they need to rely on making games that sell more units to achieve these bonuses. The vibe in Activision with regards to Black Ops 7 is pretty positive at the moment. A few months ago, the executive team was not happy and now they are feeling better.

This game is smaller in scope than BF1 and V, so they could have made it work on last gen.

I agree it’s an important reason, it just doesn’t matter in this chart at all. A better representation for this chart would be if they only collected data from ps4 and data from ps5 separately. The chart would look totally different and I think for ps5 specifically, BF6 would be above COD HQ. But this chart does not take that into account no matter the reason which makes it misleading at best

Call of Duty was the most played game in the US on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for the week ending Saturday, October 11 (during BO7 beta). Battlefield 6 debuted (in terms of players) at #12 on PS5 and #8 on Xbox 24 hours after its launch.
