And this is not why OPEC cut production either. It’s neat you know how to look at data—but you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Prices for Covid had stabilized at around $2.20-$2.30/gal from June 2020-January 2020. Then Joe Biden takes office and two months later gas goes from $2.30/ gal to $2.75/gal, which was higher than the national average at any point during Trump's first term and about 20 cents higher than the average of $2.57 for Trump's entire first term. By the time the Ukraine war began gas was already at $3.40/gal for the national average, nearly an entire $1/gal more than the average throughout Trump's entire presidency. It probably had to do to the fact the Biden Administration initially cut production from even 2020 levels (as the world is coming out of a pandemic). Which also led to countries like Saudi Arabia and Russia cutting oil production (Biden had expected OPEC to increase production to keep prices stable). Seems like the plan of let's "be greener" while using everyone else's oil backfired.
