The new Parliamentary Budget Officer released her 1st report and it is not good for the Liberals. Why did the Liberals conveniently omit the $65 billion NATO commitment. In the Spring Economic Report: There’s no mention of Canada’s new goal of devoting 5% of GDP to defence or defence-flavoured things (3.5% of core defence spending), which Ryan says would add $65 billion to the deficit in 2035-36. This adds “material upside risk to the deficit and debt projections,”

Huh? Doesn't he know that public markets already exist?🤦🏼 Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne promotes the new sovereign wealth fund; Canada Strong Fund, as a way to invest in pipelines and other infrastructure companies; "If you and I would wanted to invest in a pipeline or invest in a project of national interest, it's pretty difficult as retail investors to join in." Any investor can already buy into pipeline and other companies as most are publicly traded. Many pay a nice dividend, btw, and don't require the government to borrow $25B to do so. If the government wants Canadians to have access to per project offerings, then they need to get rid of the red tape preventing it. I expect our Finance Minister to know the most basics of our financial markets.

Habs captain Nick Suzuki on coach Marty St. Louis: “No one was happy after that 2nd period. He comes in all fired up, getting us going for the 3rd period, really motivating the guys. He’s our leader and everyone will do anything for him.” “He’s a hell of a coach. He’s only been doing this for a short period of time, so I can imagine he’s going to continue to get better. He loves what he does and we love playing for him.”

When people have gastrointestinal issues, they don’t capture the gas in a grocery bag and bury it underground. Instead, they treat the problem at its source, by changing their diet, improving their lifestyle, or using medicine. That’s why 🇨🇦 carbon capture doesn’t make sense to me. Too expensive and 100% of new greenfield projects with same emission intensity of 60 kg CO₂ per barrel outside of the alliance. 😳🪒

@RazorOil @joeblough1970 Close ties with Brookfield and the current federal government. Between Brookfield and the federal government, Entropy has received approx $0.5 Billion dollars. And work with an entity in Northern Alberta. CCUS, carbon credits, etc.

Hey @grok, if affordability is supposedly the best in over a decade, why are more Canadians struggling with poverty, food banks, and groceries? What explains the disconnect? Short answer.

While Trudeau/Carney kill pipelines and tax you to death, Trump just opened the floodgates for Alberta oil. 500,000 barrels per day flowing south — no red tape, no net-zero BS This is why Alberta belongs with winners, not Ottawa’s commie circus Let’s go! 🔥

#GoHabsGo

Hey @fordnation I escaped your hellhole of Ontario for greener pastures in Alberta. The first thing I noticed, Danielle Smith doesn't dictate to her citizens what they can drink. I get to have my California wines again!

After careful reflection, I’ve decided I am no longer a @MapleLeafs fan, & am now coming out as a @CanadiensMTL fan. I look forward to your affirming responses to my brave announcement. Note that fan affiliation can be fluid, & so I may reassess my identity after Sunday’s game.

Martin St. Louis: “We’re not here for a ribbon; we want to move on. I think we’ve proved that this is where we are now, and we worked to get to this spot. You play a Tampa in the first round and you know you’re going to need everything, and we’ve delivered that. It’s to keep going. It’s a good spot to be in, and I think the guys have enjoyed the process and are hungry to keep moving forward.”

The Liberals have been using the CPP & QPP's assets in their calculations to show that the federal debt is lower than it is. It's not only creative accounting but a straight-up lie. I've been calling this out for years and glad to see it now mentioned on CBC as this lie being parroted by voters all the time. "we're facing a rising debt-to-GDP ratio, especially when you combine it with the provinces. The government is not only unconcerned about this but presents a kind of a cack-handed way of explaining it, where if you subtract the CPP and the QPP, we have a debt-to-GDP ratio of only 10%. Well, you can't actually use pension funds to pay off your debts; it's a completely bogus comparison."

Hey @grok, at Canada’s current spending pace, how long will it realistically take to eliminate the federal deficit, or are we nowhere close without serious cuts or major growth? Short answer.
