🌐 Just launched a global RPC network for Polkadot Asset Hub. 14 locations, lower latency than all major providers, at a fraction of the cost. First step of the DeServe network: decentralized general-purpose infrastructure provision, coming to #Polkadot. Benchmarks, endpoints, and full details: forum.polkadot.network/t/launched-a-g… Developers, give it a try and let us know.

Four days into the "highly anticipated" #Polkadot Hub smart contract launch. In total -- 15 contracts deployed, 37 smart contract transactions. That's IN TOTAL. I risked my job telling their leadership why the whole thing was a strategic mistake. They never listened. The de-funding of @ink_lang is the final nail in the coffin for a once great chain.

The current situation in #Polkadot OpenGov means that it's no longer a decentralized network. One party holds too much voting stake and essentially controls the direction of all referendums. In this case, on-chain upgrade is a curse. If, like in #Ethereum, changes go through hard forks, then it'll still be decentralized, because developers, validators, exchanges, etc, still need to be consulted and a rough consensus must form. No such thing is needed in #Polkadot. Just a decision by a single party, and they overrule the rest of the community, "thanks to" on-chain upgrade. It downgrades itself from decentralized Web3 to centralized Web2. Remember the original Web3 manifesto by Gavin Wood? "Less trust, more truth."

After getting to know the LayerZero team and what they’ve been building over the past year, I couldn’t think of a better opportunity to join an advisory board for the first time in a long time. Finance is moving on-chain, and I believe LayerZero will be one of the core innovation platforms supporting this multi-decade shift.

Participation drops to 23 deciding accounts on most recent confirming ref. 86.5% voting power by W3F.
