Australia has been forced to order emergency fuel from the United States for the first time in decades as the global oil crisis constrains fuel shipments, per Sky News

This is why the Victorian Liberal Party is doomed: “Five Liberal Party sources, speaking confidentially to discuss internal party processes, claimed the committee raised concerns about Marro allegedly engaging online with content linked to neo-Nazi associates.” So this is not from a Labor dirt unit, this is the Liberals. The journalists are just as bad. Look at the headline. So McArthur knows someone (Marro) who is “linked” to online “neo-Nazi content”. So it’s not even an actual neo-Nazi content it’s an associate’s content, whatever that means, whose content she is “linked to” and she isn’t even the subject of contention who is McArthur. The article then says the Age hasn’t even seen the content! It then tries to smear her by saying she opposed transmission lines and that has “also fueled anti-government conspiracy theories and sovereign citizen movements.” The end is the best where it says she has an online history of being in a MAGA fb group “that hosts racist, Islamophobic, and other offensive content. She also joined the March for Australia Facebook group, which last year attracted the involvement of prominent neo-nazis.” The Victorian Liberals and the Age put McCarthy and Hoover to shame.

Which opinion about history will get you like this?

Almost every week I receive emails from New Zealanders asking why some government agencies are still using te reo ahead of English. The English-first policy is not one of ACT’s coalition commitments, but I decided to look into it. In fact, the Government’s main public-facing webpage, govt.nz, still uses ‘Te Kāwanatanga o Aotearoa’ ahead of ‘New Zealand Government’. This is the Public Service Commission’s official branding for the Government. The Public Service Commission sets guidelines for branding across government, so it’s no wonder many agencies are lagging.

my sense with all of this is just like, we've been beating the "lean in" drum for a couple decades now and I think the average american just doesn't want to be sheryl sandberg, which is fine actually

A reminder. This is not Tamai Makaura. It is Auckland. It was built by British migrants. If you want a Tamaki Makarau, go build some huts somewhere. You don't get to steal the city my ancestors built.
