I'm so proud of my good friend Max Hillebrand for completing such an excellent book. Max is a true cypherpunk, deeply respected within the Austrian School and one of the nicest humans i know. The comment he wrote within left a tear in my eye. Buy yours: amzn.eu/d/0j91eDNY

When we wrote the first line of code for Nunchuk 6 years ago, we deliberated a lot on whether to hide the concept of “keys” from users. At the time, due to the popularity of singlesig wallets, a lot of Bitcoin wallets intentionally chose to abstract away “keys.” A wallet became synonymous with a key. Not only is this straight out wrong, it leads users to a confused place, unable to fully understand the power of public-key cryptography, one of the cornerstones of Bitcoin. Without understanding keys and public-key cryptography, users will never truly grok the power of Bitcoin or become truly self-sovereign. Users are not dumb, and we chose to treat users with respect by not hiding away keys. In 20 years, we believe everyone will need to understand public and private keys to function in an increasingly digital world. Learning how public-key cryptography works will be similar to learning ABC. Whether you are self-custodying bitcoin or giving your AI agent an identity, you either understand it and stay in control of your future, or you don’t. We decided to make “keys” a first-class UI/UX citizen in Nunchuk. Keys, then wallets. Wallets are made up of keys. Two distinct abstractions. We vow to never abstract away this critical concept. You will always be able to import and export keys in Nunchuk based on open standards. No vendor lock-in. Ever.
nvk 🌞@nvk

Not your keys, not your bitcoin. Your hardware wallet must let you export your private keys.

The main catch is that Stremio + Torrentio is torrenting copyrighted material (not licensed streaming). In the US, UK, and EU this can trigger copyright strikes, fines, ISP warnings/bans, and legal notices tied to your IP. It often requires a paid debrid service + VPN for reliable 4K, and mobile/TV app restrictions make setup trickier than it sounds. Quality and availability depend on seeders, not guaranteed servers.

Two Bulgarian friends killed the entire streaming industry. It's called Stremio + Torrentio. You get 4K content from Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max combined for free. Here's how it works. Stremio is the player. Clean interface. Works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and TV. You install it once and it looks like any other streaming app. Torrentio is the addon. You add it to Stremio in one click. It scrapes content from every major torrent provider on the internet simultaneously and delivers the best available stream directly to your player. 720p, 1080p, 4K. You pick the quality. It finds the link. → No account required → No subscription → Works on every device → 4K and HDR supported → Subtitles built in Netflix cannot shut this down. There is no central server to seize. No company to pressure. No domain to kill. It runs on your device and pulls from the open internet. The entire streaming industry is built on one assumption. That you will keep paying $70/month rather than spend 5 minutes on GitHub. That assumption just died in Sofia, Bulgaria. MIT License. 100% Opensource. github.com/Stremio/stremi… Get the addon here: stremio-addons.com/torrentio.html

The biggest issue is sourcing coldcards. If I want one and I don't want it delivered to my house it's very difficult. I even had to show ID last time at UPS. Sadly the one place I can buy coinkite products in person (bitcoin conferences) never seem to have them for sale, despite being sponsored by coinkite! You guys should do more outreach and integration with conferences and local meetups.

Selling $100 $STRC puts on margin is superior to holding $STRC shares on margin. By selling puts, you collect ~1% per month without paying margin interest. Free carry trade.

@brian_armstrong Why don't you mention that developer protections were stripped from the bill? You are an enemy to bitcoin.

The crypto market structure bill has PASSED the Senate Banking Committee with a bi-partisan vote! Historic day for crypto and for the future of digital assets in America. Grateful for the countless hours from lawmakers and staff to strengthen this legislation. Big improvement from where we were in January on rewards, tokenization, DeFi, and CFTC authority. I'm proud we stood up for our customers in that moment, and the bill is better because of it. Looking forward to a bipartisan law that cements the US as the world's crypto capital. Let's get CLARITY done.

Last-minute negotiations between Banking Committee Republicans and Democrats this morning led to a compromise that removed language from the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) in Section 301 of the CLARITY Act. This is significant. The BRCA was the provision that explicitly protected noncustodial software developers from being classified as money transmitters. It was the direct response to the Tornado Cash and Samourai Wallet prosecutions, the carve-out that Senators Grassley and Lummis negotiated to shield good-faith developers while preserving prosecutors' ability to go after those who knowingly facilitate crime. That language has now been stripped to secure bipartisan votes. DeFi advocates are already raising alarms, saying the move could gut critical protections for software developers as the bill moves to the full Senate. Despite the concession, Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) still did not vote to advance the bill, even after positively referencing the changes during the markup. Senator Bernie Moreno said during the hearing that there's "still work to be done on Section 301," signaling that negotiations on developer protections will continue as the Banking Committee and Agriculture Committee merge their texts ahead of a floor vote. The bill passed committee 15-9. But the developer protection language that made this bill matter to the people actually building in Bitcoin just got traded away for votes that didn't even materialize.

🚨🚨🚨There is a major flaw in the BRCA of the proposed Clarity Act: (d) CLARIFICATION OF TREATMENT explicitly states that the protections in subsection (c) DO NOT EXTEND to (or "modify the application of") 18 U.S.C. § 1960(b)(1)(C) for a specific subset of conduct by an "initial person." 18 U.S.C. § 1960 prohibits operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. Subsection (b)(1)(C) covers cases involving the transportation or transmission of funds that the defendant knows are: (1) Derived from a criminal offense (e.g., proceeds of fraud, drug trafficking, etc.); or (2) Intended to be used to promote or support unlawful activity (e.g., funding terrorism, further crimes). This is the exact 1960 subsection now being used to target developers. Every builder and developer knows their tool could be used for nefarious purposes. Under this law, that knowledge alone is enough to send you to prison for years. There is NO PROTECTION for developers in the Clarity Act while this carve out remains.
TFTC@TFTC21

Buried on page 230 of the CLARITY Act is arguably the biggest win for the digital asset industry in the entire 309-page bill. Section 604: The Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act. If you build open-source blockchain software and don't have unilateral control over users' funds, you are not a money transmitter. Not under FinCEN rules. Not under federal criminal law. Not under state registration requirements. Writing code ≠ money transmission. Building self-custody tools ≠ money transmission. Running node infrastructure ≠ money transmission. For years, developers have operated under the threat that publishing code could expose them to money transmission charges. Section 604 eliminates that ambiguity entirely. It establishes a clear, codified legal protection for the people who actually build the open-source infrastructure this industry runs on. Senate Banking markup is Thursday. Read the bill.
