@Curi_Christian I’m not sure that really addresses my question. Nachash generally means “snake.” It seems to me Satan has the power to take forms or at the very least disguise himself. The text calls him a “beast” or “flesh” of “the field.”

@_ChristIsLord I'm taking the text at face value. Nachash is a synonim with seraph/seraphim and therefore, based on the context of one who talks, deceives, and is rebelling against God it would be Satan and not an animal.

@Curi_Christian I don’t think there would have to be two different creatures or beings in order for Satan to manifest himself as a serpent. Why can’t we take the text at face value?

@_ChristIsLord The shortest answer is because Genesis 3:15 is God's rebuke of Satan and how he's going to be defeated by Jesus. Everything in the text is about Satan as a divine being and nothing in the text is about two different creatures or beings there.

@1WesRebel The confederacy put slavery front and center of their cessation from the Union. Anyone can read the declarations of cessation and find this for themselves.

In his free time John Adams, second President of the United States, was completely obsessed with manure. Not casually. This man filled pages of his diary with notes on his compost piles, hauling in loads of seaweed, marsh mud, and dung from Boston to build the perfect batch. He treated it like a science. It got competitive too. When he traveled all the way to England he went and inspected the manure piles at London's finest stables, studied them up close, and concluded, "This may be good manure, but it is not equal to mine." There's even an account of him touring fancy European gardens, spotting a dung heap, and cheerfully bragging that the one back home on his farm was better. And the manure was just one hobby. Adams was up by 5 in the morning and started nearly every day with a tankard of hard cider at breakfast, which he swore was good for his digestion. Then he'd go for long walks, mend his own fences, dig stumps, cut ditches, and cart the dung himself. He even grew hemp on the property. He genuinely considered "farmer" his truest identity, more than lawyer or President. So the real John Adams: wakes at dawn, cracks a morning cider, spends the day shoveling manure he's personally proud of, and travels the world quietly convinced no one on earth has a better compost pile than him. That's a founding father.

@JesseDornfeld Good passage for study. What does this say about the doctrine of illumination that seems to be so popular in evangelical circles? 🤔

So I hear that William Lane Craig is writing a systematic theology. Yeah, I'll not be buying that one.

@BrianMathis2 @ProvisionistP The entire theory is predicated on the church being the bride, which the church is not. The church is the body of Christ. He has no need to marry his own body.

@ProvisionistP elect( Rom.5:8-9, 1 Jhn.4:10). His love is meaningful. It takes action, it is effective in accomplishing its purpose the salvation of all the elect. If God loves someone but they still go to hell, then the love of God is completely meaningless and ineffective.

If God loves everyone (and He does) why wouldn’t we tell people the TRUTH by saying, “God loves YOU”?

@Godsreputation Well, actually you’re not. You arbitrarily rejected evidence concerning Jesus. You’re not willing to accept written testimony or manuscript evidence. I ask again, could you tell me what kind of evidence you’re willing to accept? If you’re not going to answer, I’ll move on.

@_ChristIsLord Can you point to a specific example that all people will agree was the doing of one particular deity? It may be difficult because there are thousands of gods and every believer thinks theirs is the only and correct one. But I’m all ears on anything Jesus has done lately.

False gospels are a dime a dozen, but none are as low as the one that says “God does not love you.”

@Godsreputation I have no idea what I have for you until you tell us what kind of evidence you are looking for. You’ve made it clear what kind of evidence you won’t accept (even though it is completely ad hoc).

@_ChristIsLord What do you have? Keep in mind it’s not about the universe or the stars or anything like that which can have a scientific explanation. The question is what evidence do you have for a loving God in 2026 without using a man written book?
