I never really understood the attack on tariffs. Maybe someone can explain. In principle, tariffs do one simple thing: Make imports more expensive → make it more competitive to build here in the U.S. Which should mean: More domestic production More jobs Stronger middle class So I’m confused. I thought Democrats were focused on the working class. And Republicans were historically more aligned with globalization and outsourcing. So why is it flipped here? @hell_line0 Today I told a coworker, "I gave up religion for lent." His face got contorted and had a puzzled look for a few seconds. I've used that line for many years. I can't believe in something that promotes so much intolerance, hatred and division in our world.

My friend told me : when I left the Catholic Church at 18, my dad took me to coffee to ask why. I boiled it down to one example: “They don’t want equal rights for women. For example, I could never become a priest in a Catholic Church.” My dad looked me in the eye and said that it was tradition to have men in power, and it would be sad to see that tradition go away. Tradition is just another word for white supremacy, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. And that makes it synonymous with hate.
