The Israeli government had an easy out after Kristof's story. They could've said: "Israel is a modern democracy based on the rule of law. Now that these allegations have come to light, we will not rest until they are fully investigated." Wonder why they didn't do that?

Ivy League universities admit only the very top students; it is hardly surprising when these students earn top grades. if you want a wide distribution of grades, admit a wide distribution of students. if you admit only A students, why be surprised when they earn mostly A's?

@_InfinitePest_ @JoyceCarolOates In fact, athletic recruits tend to be farther off the mark academically than legacies. They also tend to wealthy and there are more of them than legacies. There are also a lot of rich kids gaming the system with ginned up disability accommodations.
