Yale School of Medicine Has a total of 553 students across All four classes. Total Black students: 44. That’s ~10 per class. Total Asian students: 157. That’s ~40 per class. There are nearly as many Asian students PER CLASS as there are Black students in the entire school. Black: 14% of America. Only 7% of Yale Med Asian: 7% of America. 28% of Yale Med. I'll probably still see it. I don't think I'll drive from Woodstock to Mall of Georgia to see it in 70mm IMAX like I did with Oppenheimer, though. I was planning to try and do that, but the casting choices have dampened my excitement enough that I'll probably just see it in a regular theater. I might go down to Atlantic Station and see it in IMAX there (won't be 70mm though)

Sorry y'all, but it is Christopher Nolan. I'll go see the Odyssey and probably enjoy it because it is Christopher Nolan, and I'm going to go into this assuming the guy who brought us Interstellar and the Dark Knight knows what he is doing better than Twitter.

@EWErickson His Batman trilogy is massively overrated. The guy makes good movies. He’s a competent director. But is there anything he does to elevate himself to the level of Ridley Scott, Spielberg, Kubrick, etc? Or are we just so used to mediocrity that someone w competence stands out?

@Mid30sManhattan You are in a twitter bubble. Nolan released a film with a huge budget at the height of pandemic panic and still broke even. He made a science biopic that grossed a hair shy of $1B. The Odyssey is almost certainly a lock for $1B and will probably cross $1.5B.

@ssErrAeeD I don’t disagree that VII was nostalgia bait. But the idea that a series of movies where the characters fans care about should be ignored/diminished is the fastest way possible to kill your brand. Which Johnson, and Disney, largely did.

@ssErrAeeD Listen yourself though: you’re describing them as sequels. That means a storyline connected to the previous set. The expectation is continuing the story of the old characters, not a bait and switch where the reason you’re watching is cast aside for less interesting characters.
