@Malachians Fuck that I’ll play until I can longer walk although there is something really unsettling for me knowing I’m probably one of the worst players on the pitch. No longer one of the first picks. The head knows what to do and where to be but the body doesn’t respond like it should.

I take my kid every week to football and love watching him play but there’s always a feeling of sadness that I can no longer put the boots on and play. If you’ve played football you’ll know what I mean, it doesn’t matter what level. The build up all week to your match, waking up on a Saturday morning filled with anticipation, running through endless same scenarios in your head that you thought about the night before you went to sleep. Getting your boots on, team talk and then crossing that white line. The indescribable feeling when you scored, the camaraderie with your mates and how you thought it would last forever. But one day will be your last game you’ll ever play, the last goal you’ll ever score and the last time you’ll ever take your boots off in your life. Enjoy it while it lasts, when you’re a footballer and you get to the point when you have to stop at the sideline, it’s such an empty feeling.

Valid work permit. Lived in the U.S. for 20 years. No criminal record. American spouse. In the final stages of a long legal immigration process. He is a conservative's platonic ideal of coming here "the right way". Yet, he's been in detention for 5 months. Who does this benefit?

🇮🇪 An Irish man with a valid U.S work permit has been held in ICE detention in Texas for nearly five months despite having no criminal record, Seamus Culleton from kilkenny Ireland, who has lived in the U.S for over 20 years, is married to a U.S citizen and was in the final stages of a green card application when he was arrested in September. He describes detention conditions similar to a “concentration camp, His lawyer says the case is highly unusual and reflects arbitrary enforcement by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

@HAD4685 @RyanGirdusky @BlomquistForMI If they passed a simple law letting people who entered the country LEGALLY but overstayed come forward and adjust their statue from within the country this issue could be solved. He’s being punished to the same levels as other illegals for a much much lessor violation

@HAD4685 @RyanGirdusky @BlomquistForMI Remember he originally entered the country legally so he went through inspection and security etc. Yes he over stayed but his punishment is the exact same as someone who entered illegally which doesnt seem right.

Over staying a visa is a civil offence not a criminal offence. The problem in these cases is the punishment doesn fit the crime
